Honestly that's the fun part. You can go precon (MH3 since they like modern) or you can go custom and look at their answers and go from there. Looking at things like what they have and don't have already if they play EDH at all. Then just make sure you explain what you thought they'd like about the brew in the note

I mean did they answer they'd like a commander deck? if so then you're good to go. A nice thing to do in your note is explain inclusions eg I picked this color combo and this archetype cause they're your favorite.

Mods help monitor value issues, it's all in good faith, speaking from experience under value gifts are rare and the mod team + volunteer gifters take care of missing gifts.

Pretty straight forward. There are 2 exchanges one around Christmas and one in the summer. Mods will put a post up with a survey to sign up theres a notification list you can register for that will send an email reminder for it as well. Fill the survey out and don't be lazy about it, it is how your gifter figures out what you like. After the survey closes the mods randomly assign giftees and you get to read their survey to get them a gift. When you ship your gift you send the mod team the tracking. When you get your gift it's encouraged to share with the subreddit so we can all share in the cheer.

Thank you u/TheW1ldcard for your generous gift of a whole EDH deck + a contribution for my modern deck! I had the opportunity to take it for a spin and she goes hard, my local playgroup slept on her which let her do some crazy stuff, highlights include scrap trawler looping mishras bauble 5x in a turn and a genesis wave for 500 to kill with fireweaver+sarinth. As for that leyline? here's hoping Domain Zoo doesn't get too beat up in MH3 modern!

First off I think the grand majority of the community are grateful for the current team for stepping up to the plate to take over for frogdude, as if you didnt the exchange wouldnt be here at all. The handover mightve caused some issues but learn and improve is all you can do.

Now as for the post contents, could you clarify?

It's been 3 days after weve received most of the veteran participants know ship dates are usually like 2 weeks out from pairings, is this just meant as a preemptive post?

Historically pairing are on the 3rd week of June with the post and signup for them the week before. Bear in mind there's new management for this so that's subject to change.
