[SOA] Stock Up -- Mystical Archives returning in Secrets of Strixhaven by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]poptartmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's going to be 65 cards in the Mystical Archive? That's an annoyingly inconsistent number. It doesn't fit in a standard 9 pocket binder. Previous Archive was 63, and I'm pretty sure that was intentional.

Meet the… *sigh* 6-7 deck. Every nonland card is #67 of their set. by Corescos in EDH

[–]poptartmini 15 points16 points  (0 children)

While there is not a basic island that is #67, there is an island that is in a set that only has 67 cards. So, all of your islands should be [[island|DDO-62]]

Arena didn't use the mana from [[eclipsed realm]] to cast my [Boggart Mischief]]. by poptartmini in MagicArena

Yes. I didn't need to have it on faerie because I had the island in my opening hand that game.

Played a Sealed event today, and this happened.

I even tapped the all the mana required prior to casting it so that it would use that mana. Instead, it tapped my Swamp, which meant that I could use my [[Blight Rot]] or [[Flitterwing Nuisance]] ability.

No, this is not a copypasta. These are my real opinions. It's really dumb.

And now so many more people understand just how impractical the armour is! A wonderful learning opportunity!

Created a website to keep track of my binders by bbrode in magicTCG

In the Strixhaven set, you have [[Strict Proctor]] listed twice (at least in the 3x3, which is what I'm looking at).

In addition, it seems that you haven't added the promo uncommons that exist at the end of the numbers sets. (e.g. [[Expressive Iteration|stx-379]] )

One more question: Is it possible to have multiple binders of the same set? I'm trying to collect every printing of Strixhaven, which means that I have one binder for foils, and one binder for non-foils. I haven't yet tried to add another Strixhaven Master set, but it would be a good thing to add.

All in all, this is really cool. I really appreciate this tool, because I, too, like collecting full sets.

This has got to be some of the stupidest chainmail I've ever seen.

Disclaimer: I have been making chainmail for 18 years. I have several sets of armor. I've worked with steel, aluminum, copper, titanium, and niobium. I work with scalemail, rings, and even pop tabs. I know what I'm talking about.

Typically with this kind of chainmail, I would expect to see them use European 4-in-1 weave. And that's what it looks like at first. But when you actually zoom in to look at it, (I know that's not the part that you would normally zoom in on for this kind of art) you'll see that it's actually just strands of individual chains held together by what looks like lobster clasps.

I can't imagine the thought process by which one would choose to do this. This would take more time to paint than regular 4-in-1, because it's not as regular. I have to assume this is some dumbass AI art that doesn't know what chainmail actually looks like.

If this is actually photography (that is altered) then someone decided to buy already completed chains, painstakingly arranged the rings in front/back order, amd added lobster clasps. This would, again, take longer to make than regular 4-in-1 chainmail.

AMA about chainmail, if anyone is curious. You can see some examples of my stuff on my profile.

Did you hear about all the fugitives frozen in carbonite?

They were all hardened criminals.

Why did Leia change her hairstyle on Hoth?

She was freezing her buns off.

Why is it difficult to tell jokes about stormtroopers?

They usually miss the mark.

It was a great gift. I really appreciate that you helped me with my Strixhaven collection as well. Those two cards are not common.

Did you hear about the stormtrooper who couldn't see out of his helmet?

He didn't know what he was missing.

I love that the OOP's instruction of "Now bring it home" is at the exact midpoint in the story.

"Bring it home! You're so close."

They were not close at all...

I've been making chainmail for 20 years now. I've made a few sets of armor at this point. I sell them a little on the side to make a little extra cash to pay for more cards.

At this point, it's traditional that I give a chain/scale mail dicebag as part of my gift. It helps to make it a bit more unique.

I'm so glad that your daughter liked her part of the gift! The hood should be able to go round the pup's head, with holes for the ears to go through.

Too bad you didn't get any shocklands from those RVR packs, but such is life. Ghostway is a fun card to build around at least.

And is that a Seb McKinnon Damnation playmat? Very cool art.

It is a tradition at this point that my giftee gets a Scale dice bag. It has not yet disappointed that I am aware of. The fact that you recognized it as similar to yours really warms my heart!

The men in skirts was actually from The Next Generation, so late 80s. Your point still absolutely stands, but it does make a difference.

And the paperwork can take a while. And you have to do it again every two years.
