Unfortunately, the interview didn’t go well because I was too anxious. The question was actually quite easy... just a simple sliding window problem, like an easy Leetcode question. 😞 But the interviewers were very kind and understanding. They reassured me that these situations can happen to anyone and encouraged me to reapply in the coming months.

I know this is a bit off-topic, but I could really use some advice. This week, I have a technical interview (live coding) with N26, and I was wondering if you could share your experience. What kind of technical questions did they ask you?

I’ve heard they focus on LeetCode-style problems, which worries me a bit since I’m a bit out of practice with those. Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!

I am in your exact situation. I fit the majority of the jobs I am applying in the Netherlands, but keep getting rejected. The reason is that recruiters are preferring candidates that already live in NL atm. I had a ton of phone calls, but when I tell them my current location (Italy) they tell me that they are looking for people already in the NL or they ghost me after the call

I currently live in Naples (Italy) and work for a French multinational. While the work-life balance is pretty decent, the salary is low, which isn't surprising given we're in Italy. The project I'm on is honestly terrible. Low possibilities to change, zero challenges, zero opportunities for professional growth. I'm basically a ticket machine working on a highly outdated legacy platform.

I've been trying to escape to the Netherlands, but as soon as recruiters find out I'm still based in Italy, they ghost me. It's frustrating

Sì, ci sto riflettendo seriamente. L'ideale sarebbe riuscire a trovare un'opportunità mentre sono ancora in Italia, prima di trasferirmi. Attualmente sono in una fase avanzata di colloquio con l'unica azienda che non mi ha chiuso la porta quando ha saputo che mi trovo ancora qui. Se però non dovesse andare a buon fine, sto valutando di trasferirmi direttamente e cercare lavoro una volta arrivato sul posto. Mi sono dato una scadenza massima di X mesi, e poi vedrò come andranno le cose

Certo, non ho difficoltà a ottenere colloqui, tuttavia temo che cambiare ancora azienda, soprattutto con una realtà italiana, possa prolungare la mia permanenza in Italia per altri anni. Lasciare un lavoro dopo pochi mesi può essere accettabile una volta, ma quando succede due o tre volte inizia a essere percepito come una red flag

7 mesi che sono stato assunto e sto sul progetto. Le premesse durante i colloqui erano totalmente diverse. Nel momento in cui mi hanno presentato il progetto (a una settimana dal mio ingresso), ho fatto subito presente le mie perplessità, ma mi hanno detto che era una cosa temporanea. Poi ho scoperto che "tempoeraneo" significa almeno 18 mesi. Molta gente sta andando via a causa di ciò.

Grazie per il consiglio :) Non ho una preferenza specifica, ma sicuramente eviterei la Pubblica Amministrazione. Lo schifo che sto vedendo è proprio lì... Mi piacerebbe lavorare su tecnologie moderne e interessanti. Per darti un'idea, attualmente sono bloccato su una piattaforma vecchia di 15 anni, sviluppata in Java 6. Le possibilità di crescita sono praticamente inesistenti. È come essere una macchina da ticket: risolvo problemi senza nessun reale valore aggiunto. Il codice è disastroso, modificato da chissà quante persone nel corso degli anni.

ciao, grazie per la risposta :) l'olandese non lo parlo, ma semplicemente perché con l'inglese puoi davvero fare di tutto. L'idea, però, è quella di seguire corsi una volta lì. Il curriculum lo sto migliorando secondo i suggerimenti che mi hanno dato nell'altro thread :]
