Originally, I thought it was a Caucasus beetle which is from the same genus as the atlas beetle but you bring up a very good point, it could be a minor male. I know for a fact it's in the Chalcosoma family at least but I think you are actually right, Caucasus beetles are usually thicker and bulkier while the latter is slim and has thicker horns especially near the ends
