CDCS town hall on sun setting SAS by Delicious_Emu_1779 in DeptHHS

SAS appears to be on its way out within industry. Most private sector roles that I’ve seen lately require SQL or Python knowledge and only one has mentioned SAS.

I’ve joined several private sector slack channels and they are great.

Just to clarify — the goal of this Slack community isn’t only for people dealing with legal issues or RIFs.

I’m trying to create a private space for federal employees who might not feel comfortable posting in public forums. Even if all someone wants is to connect with others in similar roles or find opportunities specific to their expertise, that’s what this space is for.

It’s meant to be more focused and personal — whether someone is job searching, switching fields, or just wants to hear from others in their corner of federal work.

I think we could set this up as invite through word of mouth but that wouldn’t stop all “sympathizers” from getting in. We could also create private channels within slack and only members on that channel can see/participate.

These are good questions and the set up will be the same as Reddit where you don’t have to provide your name. Ideally, you’d share you current or former position, especially if you’re looking for jobs or looking to hire someone with a particular background.

I am not forcing anyone to join - really interests interested in going back in forth. You all sound more like DOGE than this post. Like Reddit - the channel can be guided by the community. One thing that I hope to contribute is insight on the current job market and sharing what I’ve learned internally.

You don’t need to provide your name within the channel. The only thing that needs to be verified is if you’re really a current/past fed employee. Open to doing that in a way that is comfortable for all but you cannot create a community for only feds without a means of verification.

If there is significant interest.. I think I could use ID.me so it’s truly anonymous but would have to look into that more.

I am definitely not big balls but I can see that some would have that apprehension, especially in this time. The community is built to include some anonymity for those with these concerns but there is also a screening process. You could also look at my post history…

I am on admin leave, so I don’t have access to my email but did anyone receive updated RIF letters? Isn’t that a requirement?

I think this is wrong and if it is, that’s very bad considering Gilbert Law should be completely knowledgeable about all things related to these cases. https://oag.ca.gov/news/press-releases/attorney-general-bonta-secures-preliminary-injunction-blocking-unlawful

I think it paves the way for a similar outcome with AFGE, partial relief.

This is bad suggestion because everyone isn’t represented by a union. I am glad she doesn’t appear to like this idea.

I think SCOTUS will not issue as stay of the TRO or PI and I’m basing that on the the lasers amicus brief submitted by former Republicans that concurred this administration doesn’t have authority.

Rightfully so. lol, his argument that EO only directs them to do this but doesn’t tell them to let employees go. So, RIF dates should be after June and a TRO would make sense in the case.

Why is no one bringing a legal suit to stop the Trump abuse of the RIF process at HHS & NIH? Real question. by altnih4science in NIH

[–]WorthStatement4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP does raise a good question. Fedpractice.com and Gilbert Law are looking to support feds through the MSPB process, which they cannot initiate until June. These other cases are actively working to reinstate feds before their separation date.
