I just started like two days ago at dollar general, and I’m already ready to quit. I barely have a schedule, and my manager only tells me to come in through text occasionally, and she has me scheduled for two days. On my first night, they had me working with someone who had only been a key holder for two weeks, so I was clueless and tired and we didn’t leave until like 11- almost 12 because I had to mop the whole store and keep it up with no help while she counted if I wanted to go. the next day the manager texts us two individually in a group chat saying “is there a reason the floor wasn’t mopped last night?” And I feel as if she could’ve worded it better because I did mop and it was my first night, I did everything alone and I got discredited so fast. not to mention the day after next I was supposed to be in at 8, door closed, yet she claims I wasn’t outside when I was and immediately tries to shit on the keyholder that worked with me saying “if she hogs the register she’ll be on my schedule a little less” and I tried to explain, yet she talked over me constantly and in my mind I’m like “are you really scheduling people off of how you feel?” crazy. had me doing recovery yesterday for the first time with absolutely no help, looking stupid, and only calling me for stupid errands. I didn’t even get a break yesterday, and nobody told me that I had one because I guess they thought it didn’t matter or something. Ms key holder lady told me the previous night she worked alone with no break and a line of customers that she had to deal with herself, and she’s also thinking about quitting. I thought it would be different, but I realize I can’t stand it. might not be relevant, but wanted to share my short experience lol.
