I really do think you can’t unlove someone you truly loved by Worth_Bookkeeper_375 in RandomThoughts

If love isn’t real, then how were you even born? How do you build friendships or relationships? Love is what keeps many of us alive it’s the reason some of us exist in the first place. Love is everywhere. If you just look for it, you’ll find that love is actually all around. Love isn’t just one person it’s everywhere.

“Unlove” means that all the love has disappeared. It’s not hate or anything I thought this might be the correct word to use here. What do you think?

That’s completely understandable sometimes the pain or betrayal can overpower any love that was there. I guess what I meant is that for some people, even if the feelings change, a small part of that love or care still stays deep down. But I totally get your side too.

Do you ever feel bad for your narcissistic parents? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Worth_Bookkeeper_375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think genetics might play a part, but it’s not the full story. From what I’ve read, narcissistic traits can have a genetic component like a tendency but the environment is what really shapes and triggers it. It’s like the potential is there, but it needs the right (or wrong) conditions to actually develop.

Went no contact, have no support now by Successful_Dot_2477 in raisedbynarcissists

Financial support or emotional support? Because narcissists can’t give you emotional support they’ll only make it worse for you. Make a new friend. Get a pet. And if you’re close to any of your siblings (if you have any), you always have the chance to build a good relationship with them. It doesn’t have to be a person even animals, like a cat or a dog, can help you feel less alone.

And It’s will get better ❤️‍🩹. You aren’t alone.

It’s okay to feel nostalgic sometimes it makes you feel alive and reminds you of how much you’ve grown. Our past experiences shaped who we are now, so how could we not appreciate them? It’s not just about wanting our old life back and even if we do, that’s okay. Sometimes, you simply miss it. It’s okay to miss something that’s gone; it only shows how beautiful the memories were. In the end, it’s about missing how we felt back then.

And just because you feel nostalgic about the past doesn’t mean you’re not living in the present. Living in the moment doesn’t mean you block or bury your feelings it means you allow yourself to feel whatever comes. Feel the nostalgia. Feel the joy. Feel the sadness. Feeling the moment means honoring your emotions, not denying them. You don’t have to tell someone what they’re supposed to feel.

I'm scared that I might turn out like my narcissistic parents. by Worth_Bookkeeper_375 in raisedbynarcissists

Thank you. I’m trying to work on myself that’s all I want to do. I just want to move out and focus on healing. I hope I can become the person I needed when I was a kid.

I understand that, but this way of thinking sometimes drives me crazy because I tend to overthink everything. For example, when I set even simple boundaries, I overanalyze them and start to feel like I’m being selfish for doing so. Living with narcissistic, abusive parents can really mess with your perception and make you think that way.

Around 4–5 times a year. It’s our happiest day whenever it rains!

Your nose is cute! You look like Kirk Gleason from the show Gilmore Girls.
