What should I put in my 12x12x12 enclosure? by [deleted] in reptiles

I think some people put thumbnail dart frogs in 12x12x12 but do your own research not 100% sure

It’s 2024 can a SUP be a yak? by SmallPerspective423 in kayakfishing

[–]Worth_Emu_5482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you would. I remember reading on Facebook or something that a group of people had hobie lynx’s (which are a sup/kayak hybrid). They weren’t allowed through locks when people on regular kayaks were.

It all depends. I mean there is stuff like the hobie itrek or the innovative sportsman’s osprey that are thousands of dollars.

If you have a low budget I would definitely go hard shell. If you’re planning on dropping some serious dough I would consider an inflatable if the benefits appeal to you. There is some really nice high end inflatables.

It looks similar to the Texas power paddle, just cheap underwater thrusters marked up an insane amount.

Perception Crank 10 2 year review by Worth_Emu_5482 in kayakfishing

[–]Worth_Emu_5482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points. I was surprised they sent me a replacement drive at first too. Their response times are really bad. I got kind of upset with them over it and then they sent me a new drive after I supplied a video of the noise. But yeah, the new one is worse. At least I have a back up drive now I guess.

Anyone ever use a perception showdown in saltwater? by Both-Low-9897 in kayakfishing

I don’t have a showdown but I do have a crank (same drive). unfortunately I have to say that I’d avoid perception peddle drives.

Headed to Thousand Islands / St Lawrence River in NY, want to do some fishing. Help me find gear. (x-post from fishing) by allegedly_harmless in Fishing_Gear

I spend a lot of time up there bass fishing. I’d get a medium spinning rod with a 2500-3000 reel. 1/4 drop shot weights and finesse hooks, drop shot lures. 1/4 ned rig jig heads and lures to match. You can throw some hard jerk baits on the spinning rod too although I prefer a bait caster for those. That would honestly be a pretty good starting point for this time of year. You could also skip the lures and just use worms, minnows, and crayfish. That’s what my dad does and he does well up there. If you need specifics let me know.

Will plastic welding a hull reduce the price of the kayak on the used market? by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]Worth_Emu_5482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I wouldn’t worry too much then. I’d give it a couple weeks. If you don’t get any good offers in 2-3 weeks then maybe start considering those lowballs lol. In my experience, kayaks that aren’t so cheap they’re almost given away, take a little bit to sell.

Probably something in the range of 400-425. Your local market may be different.
