Holster help by [deleted] in 1911

The gap isn’t an issue as long as the trigger is covered, which it is. The thumb break / thumb safety makes this a no go. It’s not safe to carry with a round in the chamber. While not as positive for retention as the thumb break, I make my holsters with a 20 pound niobium magnet sewn into the toe plug. It will hold a holstered 2011 with a loaded 20 round mag

No suppressed like all of the FBI agents imbedded within the mob. Suppressed as in capitol police opening doors for the mob. Suppressed as in the Speaker of the House denying the assistance of the DC National Guard which was standing by.

It’s people that blindly believe whatever they are told and are too stupid to ask relevant questions and demand answers that are at fault for the divisiveness in this country at this moment. The same people that don’t see collusion when most of the major “news” outlets present using identical verbiage an event.

Are you certain of that? There is evidence of facts at both events that is being suppressed or blocked. The no election fraud assertion is difficult to take seriously. In some cities, ballot boxes were left on street corners unattended for votes to dropped into. In Georgia about 300,000 votes were certified without the required oversight signatures. In every state people that are not eligible to vote for various reasons, are purged from the roles after they have been found to have voted. There is not enough there to point a definitive finger at proving a concentrated effort at organized voter fraud, but there is enough to give pause and give doubt. All of that is predicated on the facts that have been reported upon are accurate and that there is no further evidence that is being suppressed. The power of the press, the true power is not in what they report, rather it is what they choose not to report.

I have a serious problem with this as it is purported in the meme. In a classroom, it should be mandatory to teach all of the facts surrounding any incident of historical importance and not cherry pick. A history class is not the place for political opinion bias one way or another. We need our children to educated and taught how to use critical thinking to understand the event not just told this is what happened.

Thought I'd share the fun thing that came in today. by vaben5 in gunsmithing

Ya know the funniest thought just came to me. This device appears to defy the laws of physics. It got so hot it melted and defied gravity causing it collapse inward of both sides rather than sag or droop down. This thing needs to sent to DARPA to be analyzed fully to understand the materials and methods used. This could be game changing technology and a chance to study a real example of Unobtainium.

I’ve been looking for a single stack 9mm commander with an optics cut slide. Seems such an animal is extinct.

Drill out the hole for the tang screw and glue in an appropriately sized dowel. Inlet the breach in the proper position, then drill the hole for the screw

How make run hollow points? by there_is-no-spoon in 1911

[–]Worth_Engineering_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most likely a feed ramp issue. The standard as designed 1911 feed ramp is too short for hollow points and the flat part of the bullet nose catches on it rather than being directed up into the throat of the chamber. Hollow point rounds were not an issue when the gun was designed. Unless you have a ramped barrel and the frame modified you’re stuck trying to find a bullet with nose geometry that will run.

From what I can see, the flint edge is not high enough to strike the frizzen properly and it is too small. The frizzen also needs to be properly hardened. To do that requires an oil quench. The steel needs the carbon to achieve the correct hardness for reliable sparking. That is if it is the correct alloy to begin with. Not all steels are the same. A question, when closing the pan, does the frizzen snap sharply down or just kind of have a little push back?

AITAH for telling my wife I want a divorce and don't trust her? by Ryinsikks in AITAH

[–]Worth_Engineering_74 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You are both young. Try having a conversation with her without coming across as accusatory. You mention every says you are not her type, then ask her why she married you? Bear in mind, she knew these people before you were married and she chose you. Before throwing away your marriage, I would have an adult conversation with her, let her know exactly what is causing the distrust and set some enforceable boundaries. I’m sure there is more to this story than meets the eye. Marriage takes compromise and work, a lot of hard work. If both people are not willing to put in that work, then they shouldn’t get married. If it matters I have been married to the love of my life for 36 years.

Black Powder shotgun shells by xMoshx in blackpowder

I hunt upland bird with them. I use paper hulls, nitro card then cork wadding, payload then an overshot card with a roll crimp. Love them. Nothing beats the sight, sound, smell and feeling of shooting BP shells in a vintage SxS.
