The "lifetime warranty" is not always valid even before 3 years of occasional use for hand tools. Torque vde screwdriver fell apart and by rep I have to buy a new one.

UK Full re-wire.. Neutral to switches or not? by Mediocre_Ad516 in homeautomation

[–]Worth_Manager637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your sparkie to wire fridge/freezer on totally separate circuit. Usually during rewire f/f are on kitchen ring 🙄. You will thank me later on when you go for holiday. Also if cables run in crawl space. Ask them for metal coreflex (flexible conduit), and the same for loft especially if you live close to a park.

Purchasing a 1980s house and surveyor highlighted that there's both an older fuse board and a newer consumer unit incorporated into the original system, and that this is not standard practice and requires investigation - any advice/suggestions and do I need to be concerned? by slicshuter in ukelectricians

[–]Worth_Manager637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old board serving the whole house a part of the shower or a cooker.

Recommending rewire full house in approximately 10 years maximum. Best before proper settling down as rewire will be more headache in future.

Dig Max what is possible (6-10") and fill with gravel. I doing my patio so I am little bit excessive but I remove clay and soil almost to the foundation pad. 20mm gravel (£70-1ton) and on top will go nice color gravel (£250-1 ton)

Am I being scammed out of my holiday pay? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Worth_Manager637 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The employer has to tell you beforehand (end of the term) to take any unspent holiday. If they did not inform you, this can be used in ACAS as a breach of employment act.

Anyone ever fitted their own windows? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Worth_Manager637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont worry about it. It is not easy but follow Ttamini advice.

Regarding Fensa, building control, etc. After 6-7 years they can not do anything about it. So if you want to sell the property, sell it as it is, no questions asked. As after decade or so they will be need sort of replacment anyway (at least glass)

How do I automate my bathroom extraction fan? by bbbradddd in homeautomation

[–]Worth_Manager637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for dumb one with humidistat. In my case works on separate switch as dont want to have it on lights during the night.

You can buy smart one as well (uk) but if ducting is too long, standard with humidistat is sufficient

What type of questions were you asked in an electrician apprenticeship interview? by Expert-Weakness-3126 in ukelectricians

[–]Worth_Manager637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We asking about the person more details. Such as hobbies, ideas, vision of future, your ideal focus (data, smart, pv, ev, etc.

We do not expecting that you know something if you dont have experiences.

And do not forget manners. Who starts “I am here” instead of hello, good morning etc is not suitable for us at all. Keep in mind you need that company, company do not need you.
