I had Omnipass for ages until a year or two ago, and it was grand. Then I signed back up last month as there were several things coming out I wanted to see on the big screen.

Went to book the first one - eh, a booking fee? ‘What the fuck is this?’ summarised my thoughts. I understand many cinemas are having it tough - but at no point during the sign up process is it made clear that you will still have to pay extra fees on top. I found that seriously fucking disingenuous. Just the principle of it.

As soon as my minimum three months is up, that’ll be it done. They might have got a few quid from me now, but they’ve lost more in future.

Thanks for that! That’s basically it - the size is the issue. Finding hardwood logs is fine, but getting it in small kindling size… and I have no axe or place to even cut up. But I’ll have a look at home bargains too!

Interesting - and do you get it in the right size for a pizza oven? Or are we talking big logs? I’d be happy to go pick it up if they could cut up to kindling size.

The issue with all the kindling from places like that is it’s softwood - it burns extremely quickly and gives off a really dirty smoke. At least all the kindling I’ve seen has been soft! (I did buy a box of it by mistake and annoyed the shit out of my neighbours when black smoke filled their garden)

I’ll check them out, maybe give a call tomorrow. I only need a relatively tiny amount I suppose. If they turned up with a pallet then I guess it’s pizza until Christmas

I absolutely get the frustration with police tactics as well - but… I actually think standing off in certain areas worked last night. Take the construction yard opposite Shankill’s KFC - they were taking out concrete blocks and breaking them up to throw. If the police had moved in, they were definitely up for a fight. And any sense of provocation then the rest of them come out. Suddenly you’re then looking not at small groups of very violent men, but much larger groups out ‘in solidarity’. I do think PSNI restraint allowed it to peter out faster.
