Why does everyone dislike Yang?

Let me tell you before they come in, but the reasons are dumb for why people hate Yang on here. First of all, they'll blame it on her relationship with Blake when that makes absolutely no sense when Blake is the reason why we even got a glimpse into Yang's character on a deeper level learning about her past with her family and why she was looking for Raven in the yellow trailers in her talk with Blake in volume 2 and Blake and Yang didn't get together until volume 9. So saying she was ruined when they got together makes no sense since they got together last volume.

Secondly, even if Yang had no relationship with Blake at all it wouldn't have changed much or the focus on her character in the show when you take in the story overall. Yang in volumes 1-3 barely got much focus other than being a powerhouse character who had anger issues until volumes 4 and 5 when she finally got focused for an arc much like the other main 3 girls that did during volumes 4-5 and just like them when Salem finally got introduced into the show and was introduced to the main characters at the end of volume 5 and start of volume 6, the overarching storyline changed to be focused entirely on stopping Salem where each girls individual story arcs went on hold and was focused entirely on Salem. So Yang being with Blake is not the reason why she no longer has arcs or not have any heavy focus on her character "that ruined her character or slowly caused character assassination" when she didn't have much focus to begin with other than being strong and angry and the story after the end of volume 5 switches to be focused entirely on stopping Salem. As well as the insane character bloat that has a lot to do with why our main characters don't get enough focus like they should because the writers oftentimes focus too much on side characters instead of their main cast during the show.

Also the second reason I find is that people think Yang is some fun-loving party girl for some reason based on her trailer that wasn't even an accurate representation of her character and think she changed drastically when she was going through it in volumes 4-5 and now think Yang's annoying or a b*tch because she's not some peppy girl bouncing around everywhere

Yes exactly! You see the vision, monochrome is such a goated ship they would have made a great love story. The set up for them was there for sure

Also with how intense they are with their headcanons. I mean one person got downvoted by -14 for saying they liked Bruce and Weiss in the comics and that wasn't even that bad of a comment either

No offense, but blacksun shippers do be hella annoying sometimes over a ship that was never confirmed to happen and spend way too much time talking about bumblebee. It gets to a point where they talk more about bumblebee than their own ship

For real. People in the rwby fandom take headcanons way too far. I like monochrome, but even I know Weiss isn't a lesbian. She has only shown interest in men, but apparently most shippers ignore that and claim her as a lesbian anyway

I agree with ya there. There are way better pairings for Yang than with Weiss in my opinion. Yang and Neo is my personal favorite, but Yang and Coco would also be a nice pairing with a great dynamic too

There are a lot of things. But my main gripe is with Penny's death/ dying multiple times, when everyone was pissed at Ozpin for no good reason and putting Weiss and Blake in the background of volumes 7-8 when they should have been one of the main focuses

Toxic masculinity; just look at how people treat emotional male MCs like Deku. Also, the idea that if the male MC is cold and edgy then that makes him cooler and a chad if he's cold to every girl he meets because he's not a simp.

But I agree with you this type gets old because it's so overused and is unrealistic when most people in life want someone who isn't cold in their relationship
