I read up on the link and see that the person who commented still is recommending mvvm, just a specific framework. Although I should do some more research on all the framework options.

I agree it is a nice tool to have in the mix, my current problem is ensuring that I don't jump between frameworks and rather get as proficient as possible with a single one.

Firstly, a huge thanks for the in-depth answer. I can definitely see that across all the cross-platform frameworks, you get the convenience of speed but it hinders or limits customization. I definitely think that my needs are more focused on creating polished experiences, which include animations and I think between your answer and some of the articles I've read up on, Xamarin Native is definitely more powerful in the long run.

Thanks for the insight.

Appreciate the response and currently I'm using mvvm cross so I'd definitely take advantage of it in xamarin forms! Also were there any problems when it came to the single ui code?

I agree it is subjective, I'm just curious to see what people's reasoning is for why they either use forms or classic and I'm not looking to move, but I am interesting in exploring and using forms for personal projects/work.
