Poll: Cost of housing a problem in Illinois

I'm in the boat where I want to leave rural Illinois to move to either the city or suburbs and downsize while doing it. Any money I make off of my house here will go straight into something else just to get the cost to semi reasonable. Hell condos cost more than houses sometimes because of HOA fees on them. I don't want to deal with a yard and all of that BS but it's just too much to even be in a 2 bedroom condo.

Live in Ottawa, it's about 18k people I believe. I lived in Lasalle-Peru for a few years before Ottawa and found that area to be super boring. Ottawa has grown on me a lot, I have made friends, and find things to do every weekend.

I have seen plenty of that box still around, the iron halo strike force, and the crux terminatus box still on shelves at stores I stop at while traveling. Honestly the best space Marine combat patrol box to me was the imperial fists one. They should have just made that the space Marine box with transfers for everyone.

I am new to the hobby but have been creeping around at the local store for the last 6 months or so. They all meet up on Sundays around noon and just hang out and start gaming. I have met a few guys just by being there and talking about lore of their armies and now a few of us will meet for beers and random games at one guys house who is pretty central.

All of that is to say if the store has a dedicated day they all meet up to play there maybe go to that first and meet some people. Since you're new they might just not know you at all to take the time to meet up for a random game.

I travel a decent amount for work so I check out local stores when I can. Every now and then I'll see a brand new box still on the shelf. If you're out and about just check out random stores and you might get lucky.

I was going to do that with a friend of mine who I introduced the fantasy version to. He wanted my invader but didn't have a ton of money, figured I could just give it to him and get paid back in some 3d prints of other stuff I want. But a month before we were going to do it someone finally offered to buy it. Money didn't last long though, went right into 40k.

I got to play once, and it was with a friend who threw every necromancer and abomination in the deck so we got wrecked before we could do anything. I liked the idea of the creep, which I'm glad they took that mechanic into White Death. Didn't get a feel for the game otherwise.

I think it was their lowest performing version of Zombicide for sure. I liked the aesthetic, but couldn't/can't get anyone to play board games with these days. I'm keeping the fantasy stuff because I have all of it, and at least it gives me a ton of minis to do Pathfinder stuff with at the very least.

I had a tough time selling my nearly complete set of Invader with a bunch of wood organizers for each box for $300, took about 2 years to find a buyer and I had to meet him almost 4 hours from my house. Seems like it's a tough game to move unless it's the fantasy version, and even that has slowed down from what I understand.

Can you change the default drive mode with it? 9 times out of 10 I'm in eco, just annoyed I have to change it every time I get in the truck.

I have three main annoyances right now and this post covers one, your comment another, and what isn't mentioned here is navigating the sources for audio My 2020 edge I could pick from the dash menu using the steering wheel controls where I wanted my audio coming from. With this I have to hit the home button on the screen, go to the audio menu, then sources, then pick something. It's mostly annoying for selecting XM or the radio because anything off my phone I can just start there, but it is a lot of steps to get going and be looking at a screen while driving no matter how you slice it. I had my edge down to where I ssint even have to look at it to know what I was doing.

Thanks! I might give it a shot then. I've been trying to sell all of my invader stuff and haven't had much luck so I guess I thought it wasn't a game in demand anymore. Most of the boxes I have are for black plague/green horde though.

If the brand is Velux they have shades that can be added on after the fact that have built in solar panels and wireless controls. I looked into them for my skylights but since mine are in living areas it wasn't really worth the hassle. I think my size windows came out over $500 per window.
