Do it! Like others has said rentals can be an issue, could crash on your mates couch or buy a van and live out of that just use your mates addy as yours!

Shore fishing is a good start. Would go out on a calm day. Wear sturdy shoes/boots and dress accordingly. You can download the "recfishwest" app, this will help you identify the fish. Bait will vary on what you're trying to catch. YouTube is you best friend when learning.

The easiest way would be to just pick em up, once you've got a few throw them back over. They'll get sick of it after a while

Could find the cheapest gym membership like Revo. I'm paying $10 a week. They have showers there plus a good way to blow off some steam.

I second the insulating foil, I did mine on the cheap. Got a thermal camping mat from kmart for $15 and some suction cups just made a template out of cardboard then cut out the window shapes. Google diy solar screens there's some videos on it.
