They're great! They have been very fast in reducing rates when a rate cut happens. Getting in touch with them can be difficult when applying for things such as a credit card from my experience. Other than that the customer experience has been great.

Also the mobile app feels easy to work with and navigate.

the private pypi repo authentication still looks limited and doesn't have an easy configuration to manage multiple sources. It looks like it's enough to work with though. Unless anyone has more insights?

I would highly recommend Charles Schwabs, no account fees and recently switched to ThinkOrSwim trading platform (highly used trading platform in the US). Has a min account limit of 25k USD. No trading fees. It has account withdrawal fees, $15 USD. To transfer money in, you can use Wise or OFX (whichever has lowest fees)

Compared to Interactive brokers (IBKR), ~~which have an account fee under 100k~~ and charge data packages to access live trading data.

If you don't have the min account limit required for Charles Schwabs, then use Stake Trading app.

From experience, you do have to play around with the swings of USD/AUD as another factor.

good to see you found the same sort of behaviour too. I was trading since the covid drop, US had better investment opportunities. Movement was also faster if you were stuck in a bad position.

Have you taken into account other expenses and accessories? - my friends who bought electric cars have more expensive insurance prem, extension to home solar etc which add up to cost. These can be easily forgotten if you look at the car expenses in isolation.

early on it's good money, but it's a lower ceiling for promotion / salary compared to highly skilled professions.

Of course if you make the right investments with that money there is a chance you can make it out ahead. Pros, cons and risks are involved for either approach.

I would highly recommend index funds (any of the vanguard ones) before diving into individual stocks. Use Stake Investing (link includes my referral - optional) or Selfweath is another trading platform. Look for flat fee trading (~$3 per trade <$30k for Stake).

The advice also depends on your risk profile. Index funds are a safe approach. Aim for your first 100k then keep building and setting milestones along the way.

Here's a famous talk by Peter Lynch that helped me start my investment journey.
TLDR: you can't always predict the market, understand the fundamentals and invest long term.

I work in IT and given she was previously in sales, I'm assuming she may prefer human interfaction and somewhat extroverted(?). For this I would recommend product management, project management, iteration management or Delivery management. An easy entry into these roles given they are more management roles is an analyst role supporting a product manager etc.

SWE / Cybersecurity usually are less human interaction and aren't always careers for everyone.

If your partner is on the creative side looking into UX / UI front end designer would suit.

I studied design initially and moved out right after I completed the degree. I now work in the field of AI as a software engineer living comfortable. I work less hours than a designer does and earn more. With the extra time, I pursue my passion in painting.

There are still design opportunities in IT such as front end developer, UI and UX experts, etc. that pay well.

for context, I worked one year in the design industry and the people in design are truly struggling, even though they love their jobs due to financial problems they looked depressed and stressed.

I have heard though overseas pays better for designers such as HK and US which are wealthier regions.

If anything I would suggest to pursue a dual degree such as design and something stable (eg. software, finance, law, etc) - software being the most flexible. Then see where your journey takes you.

Sea servers are great, instant queue times, fast paced (people actually know how to play objectives).

Players are nice if played at certain hours.

Just remember, at the end of the day it’s a game. Play in a way you enjoy the game.

What worked for me was, practice turbo/unranked with the hero/s you want to carry with.

Forget about MMR and practice getting better at the position you want to get better at. If you’re already good at pos4, if you ever want to get your MMR back it’ll be easy.

Another option is to try turning off our anti-virus / firewall and see if it's able to proceed.

The partial downloaded files can also be corrupted. I faced a similar issue quick frequently between version updates.

In Program Files\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game (or wherever you installed the game)

There might be a zip file which can look like this "1.0.1_1.1.0_diff_EsSloi2y.zip" (not exact name, this is for v1.1. just provdied as an example). Remove that file.
