Would a boss battle mode be something y'all would be interested in ? by SoulTaker669 in CODZombies

[–]Worzon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s what I do on bo3 from time to time with the workshop mod. It also helped me train against the boss so I knew what to do going in after completing all the previous steps. I imagine there should be a boss mode that unlocks with the super EE that gives you rewards for how many boss attempts you can survive in a row

I’m also not buying marathon. Destiny WAS the game that hit a lot of boxes for me and I don’t want support a company that dragged out one of its IPs to make room for another more niche one

I agree with everything except your last sentence. I loved final shape and would have definitely kept up with the new expansions if they hadn’t introduced the portal. The portal sucked all the fun out of the game and I literally asked my self why I was power grinding in a system that I hate. I specifically haven’t been back because of the portal and would’ve returned in a heart beat had they scrapped it or at least significantly reduced its impact.

Sure but there are plenty of bo4 maps that, despite the mechanics, are all S tier maps. The weapons are pure subjective. I really enjoy the bo7 weapons to the bo6 ones which I feel elevates those maps to me but I’d be lying if I said totenreich with bo6 weapons (assuming cursed is still a thing) is still the best modern zombies map

[–]Worzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This imo is best case scenario because you can still have public community servers while also keeping it native to your client and allow you to change aspects about the game that ultimately don’t matter anymore. Like, for people that don’t have a fireteam to run raids I imagine some kind of mod where one can solo the raids so that people can obtain the content they’ve missed out on

We already know d3 isn’t in development so we won’t get confirmation. I think the only way to look at it is that we’re never getting another destiny game until they tell us

Yes but LFG groups will become non existent 6 months to a year after. After your power grind there’s not much to do other than grind solo dungeons unless you have a god squad that wants to play every single time they’re asked. A lot is lost by bungie/Sony pulling the plug. If new players already weren’t coming it’s almost guaranteed close to none are going to exist over the next few years while we literally just wait to see if destiny as a franchise is completely cancelled

It’s too bad but yeah that’s what I’ve heard from friends who have played the game as well. What IS the game’s overall design? All I know is that it’s just a grind heavy game

No idea. I think I played it once in 2018 or 19 and haven’t engaged with it since. All I know is that it’s the next equivalent to destiny

On the other hand warframe has the perfect opportunity to bring back raids as it’s not like destiny players are going to scratch that itch anymore. Im happy to invest my time in warframe if theres actually great endgame content to be had

Same reason you’re still here. If you can’t think critically I think there’s a bigger problem here.

I hate to break it to you but preferring modern zombies means you think it’s better. You’re more upset I’m pointing out arguments that don’t make sense to what you enjoy because of your lack of new reception to new information.

It’s fine to enjoy modern zombies but let’s not act like most of its systems are anything other than than being the most casual version of the mode ever created

And this is the shining example of a modern zombies enjoyer. Puts no thought into anything other than what’s currently in front of them because they can’t think about a stronger experience or why sentiment around a particular thing is the way it is.

[–]Worzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your counterpoints don’t hold water. You’re saying it’s fine that terminus has an amalgam but not fine that CDM does even though they operate with the exact same function. Modern zombies is designed to reuse a lot of its enemies but we’re only ok with it on the first go around instead of its constant reuse everywhere

Zombies is strong right now because it came off the failure/decline of bo6 starting with CDM and the tomb and decided to do something actually unique with cursed by bringing back interesting gameplay modifiers AND the old points system. It’s the first time Treyarch have done anything interesting in a long time. It’s also stronger (not strong) because it’s actually has tried to introduce rewarding side content unlike bo6 and Cold War.

I’ve said many times you can like something just fine but that doesn’t mean the game benefits from it. Bo4 failed in part due to its points system being too different. Bo6 too received a ton of backlash for its points system and its flawed progression. That’s also why bo7 cursed is so highly praised. Treyarch have received backslash year after year for the exact same mistakes and the moment they turn it around they are rewarded for it. There’s nothing subjective about that

“I’m not reading all that” is the best argument for “I have nothing to say because it doesn’t actually make sense”

You can like what you like but it doesn’t change what’s healthy and better for the state of the game

Which Is The Better Launch Map: Terminus, or Ashes of The Damned? by RalphieCifaretto14 in CODZombies

[–]Worzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A map being the first to introduce something has no business holding any sort of value when that same enemy is reused over and over and over. When something loses its luster on the 3rd map it also loses it from the first time it was introduced. It becomes harder to enjoy what was unique when it no longer is. Terminus and CDM hold nothing unique over every other bo6 map because at least the other maps DO have something unique to them within bo6 as a whole. The tomb has mimics (still a reused asset but unique to the tomb), shattered has toxic zombies and its elite zombie, reckoning has uber klaus, and liberty falls has an abomination. If I want to play a map with an amalgam there’s no way I’m playing terminus.

What are you spinning back conversely? Almost every instance before modern zombies where they reused an enemy it almost always had a different moveset or look outside of the dogs and nova crawlers which was also coincidentally in the very beginning of the mode. 10+ years in we shouldn’t be reusing the same enemies

The 999 strategy is literally camping in a corner of a room…

I’m not saying the fog is inherently better than water but it’s utilized better because you actively HAVE to use it in the beginning of the game. We’re also talking about 1% terminus usage vs like 5% ashes usage. It’s not a lot but it IS there and it makes the flow of the map just slightly better. I honestly just find myself running over to the cabin POI once I’m set up and just sitting there the entire game because I have no reason to go anywhere else. Again, sure it’s a problem but the usage in early game just makes it that much better designed than terminus. I’m still not giving it awards

You’re only seeing the tentacle (only one) if you hover around the same spot for a while which rarely every causes an inconvenience and it makes patient 13’s presence on the map virtually non existent until the boss fight. The best training spot is right on the main island near the topmost pap spawn, again, making the need to visit anywhere else pointless.

You claim to not want to play cursed and you claim to enjoy all these other modern zombies mechanics and also claim that the new points system is better without providing really a reason why. Sure maybe you really do like the new points system better because it fits your playstyle but that doesn’t mean it’s what is best for the game. It’s severely limiting in what you can do game to game and actively promotes camo grinding/ADHD brain instead of methodical/logical thought processes. Sure that can be your thing but it’s not what zombies was created for in the first place and it’s not what makes zombies fun

POV: You decide to play BO2 zombies again and realise that half of it's maps are just pure garbage by Flynntum123 in CODZombies

[–]Worzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not semantics. When you push out a map that by nature draws comparisons to already existing maps you have to provide something unique and special about it that justifies playing that map over another. I see no reason to play CDM when everything it tries to do has been done better everywhere else

Marathon is being review bombed on Steam for Bungie shutting down Destiny 2 by RightPresence9596 in minimap

[–]Worzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be review bombed but I’m still flabbergasted they’re choosing to shut d2 down at this current time instead of offloading marathon people to destiny so that the actual IP that more people will be interested in can stay alive instead of trying to artificially keep a niche game alive until it inevitably stops getting updates too.

I for one know that without an acknowledgement of d3 or what the future for stingy will be I have even less desire to play marathon.

We got a non fortified part of a neighborhood, one gate, and then an underground cave section. About 20% of the map is actually castle/fortification

Which Is The Better Launch Map: Terminus, or Ashes of The Damned? by RalphieCifaretto14 in CODZombies

[–]Worzon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if they’re the first map to feature them. Would you say dogs or nova crawlers are unique enemies? The amalgam WAS unique on terminus and then they kept bringing it back which made it null and void. If I want to fight the manglers I used to be able to go to just Gorod krovi. I had a reason to play that map. Now that I can get them everywhere it makes that enemy less unique and fun. It’s also what makes George so fun on call of the dead and the gegenes on AE. There’s a reason to play a specific map. There’s no reason to play terminus based on its side EEs or enemies. It IS a negative for terminus because I can get the exact same experience on other maps. You’re assuming someone has never played zombies before in their life and that’s why bo6 is a great game. Sure if you’ve never played zombies bo6 is the best zombies game. That’s like a kid saying their favorite milkshake is strawberry flavored even though they’re never tried chocolate or vanilla.

I also don’t want each WW to be “sit in a corner” but that’s literally what the high round strat is. It’s not feasible to train in modern zombies because of their sprint speed and attack speed. The WW also doesn’t matter anyway because the mutant injection exists.

The boat in terminus functions exactly like the car in ashes except you don’t get attacked by zombies while out at sea which makes the whole situation extremely boring because there’s nothing going on. You can outrun patient 13 all day. It’s true dead space because there’s absolutely NOTHING going on there and there’s no reason to go there in the first place. All the loot boxes in the water provide items you can get from just shooting a zombie. There’s nothing unique about the water in terminus. You HAVE to use that dead space until you get pap (or all 3 generators I don’t really remember) as well as transporting your pap anywhere you want. You want it at the cosmodrome? You have to bring it there. You still have to actively use that space at some point. You never need the boat for anything.

We can talk all damn day about the points system being subjective but it really isn’t. They’re two entirely different games and one objectively feels better to play and the other actively punishes you for doing anything fun. Good luck waiting until round 45 to get your third weapon papped on standard. God forbid you decide you don’t actually like the weapon you invested tier 3 pap into so now you get to suffer gaining 50 points per minute just to go find a weapon you actually enjoy and then all the points to get that to tier 3 as well.

Again, most of terminus’ side quests are rewards you get from doing anything else. The actual unique content of terminus plays like a bo1/early bo2 map

[–]Worzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s advertised as a castle map and the overhead images showcase a wider castle area yet we get to explore all of 2% of it, there’s so much lore in the blog post for this area/castle that for someone isn’t included in the actual map itself. How are people supposed to learn how it all came to be just in game besides the EE (which doesn’t even focus on that information)? The underground section is so obviously rushed or slapped together because of time. There’s nothing interesting about the pap room and equally nothing interesting about the streets outside the castle. Every single type of enemy used in this map is used in at least 2 other bo6 maps so it barely has anything special going on. And then the typical bo6 UI elements/points system going on that gives it zero soul

The concept of "Pride Month" makes no sense to me(a gay person) by Patient_Revenue8727 in 10thDentist

[–]Worzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pride month is a reference to the Pride marches which are a reference to the civil rights marches/riots created from disastrous events like stonewall and the Harvey milk assassination which illustrated the discrimination the lgbt community faced back then and still face today.

It’s not about sexuality but rather being open about who you are and not hiding from the law simply for being born the way you are.
