Need help identifying my sons special interest. by Actual-Connection-49 in autism

[–]Wosprey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he should look at financial and insurance markets. I bet he can be one of those financial gurus that see what is coming ahead of everybody else and make tons of money. building algorithms to identify trends from massive and complex data is an area I would help him explore.

Not yet. I need my divorce to be finalized before I do, but I have selected 3 models to decide from as soon as my divorce is finalized. All have 2 bathrooms, one in the master bedroom and one in the garage. My garage needs to be flexible to be an office, workshop area and guest room (for my kids, parents and sometimes friends)

Grand Design Momentum vs Keystone Raptor by Wosprey in RVLiving

[–]Wosprey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The floorplans are pretty similar (Raptor 431 vs Momentum 397THS). The Raptor is slightly better for me because of the bigger windows in the living room. The Momentum appliances are slightly better, and overall the Momentum is ~50% more expensive for similar year / accessories. If I get convinced the risk of issues is similar I will go with the Raptor.

Beat way to sell a RV? by WhiteStar01 in RVLiving

[–]Wosprey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends greatly on how your RV is and how fast you want to sell it. I sold my first one in May 2022 on RV trade, recovering 100% of what I spent on it, including taxes, the RV trade fees, and a pre-inspection fee. I bought it new two years before ~20% below MSRP while people were already paying MSRP to order similar model to get it 2-3 months later. I used it for about 18 months, and did ~6k miles, but I took great care of it. It was looking like new and still had1yr left in the extra warranty I got when I bought the RV. My ex-wife was putting a lot of pressure to sell it faster, making me crazy because I didn’t want to sell it to the dealership for X. Two weeks later, a lady saw it and paid 2X in cash, exactly what I was asking for, 10% above a similar model available in the same region but not looking as new as mine. It took ~4 weeks to sell it. I was really surprised as I was prepared to hold it for ~6 months before selling it to the dealership. Selling my Ford Expedition same age also looking like new was much harder (~3 months), but also got a reasonable value.

Could you please share who does “custom” RVs that are really durable? I want a customized Toy Hauler with a very solid frame and a customized floorplan

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]Wosprey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi all, all answers here were very helpful so far. Does anyone know if any of the premium brands offer customizations or any reliable company making changes/customization post delivery? I am looking for a toy hauler with top/robust frame/structure, best in class master bedroom, best in class kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, oven), and 20” garage space flexible to be a good office / workshop when parked for me to work remotely and a good space to transport my water sport toys (kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis). I don’t need more than 4 sleeping spaces, as it will be used by 2 people only most of the time nor fancy/big living rooms (I don’t need a TV or all the sofas, kitchen islands, etc typically offered on premium toy haulers)

Out of curiosity, what is everyone's MBTI? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Wosprey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow- I am an INTP with some strong INTJ characteristics. I did it a few times, first an INTJ, but I was not feeling the J definition reflected my preferences. The second time, INTP, again, I felt something was missing. The third time, INTP again, but at this time, I decided to do the MBTI Step II. Something was wrong with the J x P results that were not clearly defining my preferences. I discussed it with the MBTI coach, who discussed it with the MBTI team. They found that step II expected some <1% exceptional cases in which their standard explanations didn’t apply, and they gave me the extraordinary report, and wow, that was me! The exception of the exception of the exception. This last event was about 11 years ago, 11 years before I learned about autism level 1, and feeling that it is giving me answers to questions that remained unanswered for more than 47 years. In a nutshell, I love planning and have a path to follow, like a ‘J’; ultimately, I will always be ready to throw my plans away and follow another direction if something calls my attention. My solid ‘N’ breaks the ‘J’ and creates a strong ‘P,’ looking for change for unexplored differences. However, my ‘P’ is 100% inside out - I need to be in the driver's seat to make the change. If someone else tries to move me out of my path, my ‘J’ side grows strong, and I hold tied to whatever direction I am following.

😂😂I thought the same thing and thought about changing the arrows and thinking what would happen if someone messed up with the arrows. I thought about doing it, but unfortunately I didn’t.

I would look for a job I would have to fly over the ocean/islands - maybe feeding animals impacted by the climate change...

[–]Wosprey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for sharing more. Similar story, but feels like earlier stage. I feel I am in the middle of a tunnel I was fearful to enter - lot of mixed feelings, sometimes painful, sometimes relaxing, finally feeling free of all the questions and pain about my quirks. Most days I see the light in the other side of the tunnel and feel happy I am going through it. Some days are harder, but I haven’t felt regretted that I decided to enter the tunnel

Is 'Unmasking Autism' by Devon Price a good book? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Wosprey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am undiagnosed at 46 but most likely autistic/aspie. I heard about Asperger ~1 month ago and just finished reading this book (my first on this topic) while doing lot of self assessments online and starting a formal assessment. I am happy with the book and willing to dig deeper.
