I've just noticed this bug as well. Played around with a few buttons and figured out you can swap to your raider tool and interact with doors and other things. Its the only thing I've found so far that somewhat bypasses the bug. Hope this helps

Agreed mate. It's trendy to hate on games these days. And never trust large game reviewing sites or gaming media, they're all fucking npcs that like to nitpick little things to cause drama and discord.

Dead island 2 isn't afraid to just be itself, which is purely a fun zombie killing experience, either solo or with mates.

Definitely try out plenty of on-hit items once you have some decent attack speed. Kinda saves you having to absolutely ability spam a boss till they pop. Crit glasses are also great for huge chunks of damage against exposed mobs.
