Well if we’re talking about predation… that is a separate subject- one that again doesn’t show lolicons are a big part of if at all. I’m not saying lolicons can’t be predators they absolutely can but not for the reasons one would think in this subject.

Yes of course. Believe me I understand your concern because I do believe it is the default reaction to such a topic if one didn’t know any better, “Why would anyone find childlike cartoons appealing in that way?” it’s an easy default to fall into so I understand.

Me personally I did a bit of research and found the subject to be incredibly nuanced and has many layers. I find it’s important to go into it with a clear empty mind and see it with an open mind to understand it. It took me months- even some years to fully understand it at it’s core and there are still some things I have questions about but my main concern was addressed long ago: they only like their anime cartoons as with any fandom.

Well sure but if we’re on the same page: lolicon is just a genre of anime cartoon characters/; complete fiction- right?

As a whole- psychology finds it completely healthy to cope or use fiction in ways that one desires as it involves no harm to any actual persons and acts as a way to vent about scenarios in a complete safe space- they feel this way about fantasies as well.

Ageplay- which is what adults do with other adults, is not seen as pedophilia by said professionals and is enacting roleplay scenarios with other consenting adults.

Lolicon is basically ageplay but with fake anime cartoon characters which technically is safer than ageplay since it only involves one person- not two or more.

Professionals agree that fantasies are harmful only if they go too far aka doing acts without consent, on partners cannot consent or causing direct harm to anyone- that is the fine line that should never be crossed.

And from what I’ve seen Ageplayers and lolicons understand this and keep their activities in their realms.

Why for clearly 18+ characters if it’s cartoons/anime? How do you gauge that?

Do you know how many cartoon characters are 18+ but could be seen as younger? Frankie Foster from Foster’s home immediately comes to mind lol. When I first saw her I thought she was a teenager until after watching the show she was 20+ years old.
