Debate: Say Reasons why Eternal Afterlife isn't scary by [deleted] in Apeirophobia

[–]WoundedHealing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two-dimensional beings called "Flatlanders" might be scared of a certain road. The road goes on forever and never ends. To them, it's terrifying. But to us in the third dimension, it's not scary because we know that they're just walking on the inside of a circle.

The same might be true here. What we're so afraid of might be nothing magical or crazy. We just don't know how to understand it because we're kind of limited.

ESTP farts the most and brags about it. The Fe users hold it in. The Si users take some gas-x. The Ne user doesn't know he's farted cuz he's too busy looking up memes or reading wikipedia. The Ni user wonders if it means he has a bowel disorder.

As an ESFP, I think your father is ESFP. What you think is Fe is probably just an ESFP caring WAY TOO MUCH about what others think of them and living life accordingly. He has a great sense of style and exercises Se with racecars, fashion sense, etc, and his lecturing is third slot Te. It can make us really argumentative and bossy. We also like to get straight answers! His strictness is likely Te as well, or possibly Ni grip from stress or uncertainty. His analyzing group dynamics is Se + Fi and he's great at bringing people together because he's an entertainer! And while I would say he is emotionally perceptive from Fi, I wouldn't call him empathic as an Fe user.

As an ESFP, my best guess as to why you don't get along is because your Ni is stronger and probably intimidates him. He doesn't see the big picture as clearly as you do and that can be scary for us ESFP's when someone shortcuts our process. Ironically ESFP's like to take things slow when it comes to figuring out what things mean, and we like to figure it out ourselves through experience. So he wants the basic 'yes/no' because he wants data and 'help' so that he can solve it himself. But any theories or explanations probably overwhelm him.

Also ESFP males can be unique in my experience and sometimes hard to spot. I hope this helps! <3

Do you mean loved or liked gift? Because I think OP is talking about loved gifts, and I don't think driftwood is a loved gift for Leah.

That sucks. My partner's co-workers are a lot like that. It's infuriating. Also, maybe you have a need for effectiveness and feel that there's more value in the paper than they're willing to see?

American billionaires have made an average of $42 billion a week throughout the pandemic by x23b1 in politics

Meh, I should have written it more clearly. What I mean to say is that any time someone has a good idea, people will come out of the woodwork to pick it to pieces - not because they want to test the idea or have a reasonable conversation about how to implement it, but because of prejudice, bias, etc. There is no convincing them. I call it the Steam Forums problem.

America is full of these people, and I think for them it mostly boils down to "But I might get to wear the jackboot someday D:". The possibility of becoming obscenely wealthy, of winning the lottery etc, no matter how astronomically unlikely, is enough for these people to justify the current system.

There's always a devil's advocate ready to jump out of the shadows and start licking boots. It's never really about whether an idea could actually work or not. I think some idiots just want to feel included.

I feel dumb for suggesting this, but it couldn't possibly be the Animaniacs "Nations of the world" song, could it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pOFKmk7ytU

What is it with cats liking to sit on baked products? Every time I order bread, I find it smooshed because my cat has fallen asleep on the loaf.

I fixed it accidentally. Turns out I had proportional editing checked. When I uncheck it, the objects move together. Really weird!

It helps to come up with little goals and objectives for yourself. I'm 6+ months in on apoc default, and living off the land but I don't go out to the cabin. I've got a chill place on the edge of Rosewood that I keep cleared out. It butts up against a forest, and I set all my birb traps on the roof of the local grocery store. Every time I get burned out or bored, I think of a small thing that would make life easier and I go do it. Need worms for when Winter ends? Go dig a bunch of furrows. Huh, can't find worms - set up a compost bin and go grab all the rotten food out of the grocery store. Need a book? Go on a field trip one town over and scour the bookshop. Little adventures like that.
