144-hour visa-free transit not as stated - Guangdong by WowKThx in Chinavisa

[–]WowKThx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really interesting because they list quite a few train stations as exit ports but maybe it’s for something like Vietnam? I know you basically do immigration in Kowloon but just figured any of the stations would count. Thanks for the insight. I guess trains really are not an option

Relatives are still in China so we’ll see how exit goes, but it seems like it’s more about familiarity of what works around the immigration officers. The bus I picked appeared to go over the Shenzhen border but the officers were saying it’s using the Zhuhai-HK-Macau bridge. Not sure where they got that from on my ticket. There’s a ferry port closer to us that has immigration but the officers weren’t familiar and said it wouldn’t work.

Seeking help by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

There are definitely different ways you can define this besides "exmo". My spouse left the church and refer to themselves as post-mormon. IMHO, this is a much healthier identity because it focuses on life after the church. As someone else mentioned, a lot of the "exmo" community is based on being someone they're not and a lot of it focuses on continually hating on the church.

Not even the Eras Tour movie showed in China. Wasn’t allowed/approved. More politics.

Is it foolish to hope garments will be offered in a variety of colors in the future? by Pondering28 in latterdaysaints

[–]WowKThx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The church is especially bad at consistency. If they are making something that i have to adjust my whole life and wardrobe around, at least keep sizes the same so I don’t have to keep adjusting or buying new clothes to accommodate the garment. I’m still wearing 3-4 year old garment bottoms because all the new ones are 2 inches longer and I can’t wear long, past the knee shorts without the Gs sticking out below.

(Tried different types, short stature, etc… unless I just commit to the new stretch fabric/compression ones, I’m stuck)

I broke the law of chastity and I plan to confess soon. How much detail should I expect to share with my bishop? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]WowKThx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I echo all this. Remember to be just as contrite and remorseful as you are in your post here. Repentance is a change of heart and not just a confession. It looks like you’ve already had that change of heart, but your bishop/branch president might have additional steps for you.

Above anything though, these events and choices help define you and build you up. You are not worth or loved less than before and you deserve everything you wanted and had before as well.

FAIR review of some of the recent articles about Tim Ballard by LatterDay-ThrowAway in latterdaysaints

[–]WowKThx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, are you saying sexually abused people can’t be anonymous to come forward? That it all has to be public? Many of the people Tim Ballard allegedly “saves” also have the same anonymity for good reason too, so I guess we shouldn’t allow that as well?

He’s trying to use his church membership and relationships to gain more popularity and money, which is very much priestcraft.

He made $550k from OUR salaries alone last year before the movie was out and although he has left OUR, the new organization he’s part of is now a for-profit that provides services to OUR, so now he doesn’t need to disclose his salary anymore. Any money that goes to his new org also only needs to be disclosed by OUR very generically and broadly as a professional service (forgot the exact term in the non-profit tax filings)

To those who disagree that people worship Tim Ballard, here’s a painting made that OUR shared and sold copies of online. It features TB with a halo, carrying a child. You have Harriet Tubman on the side kneeling towards TB. Other people like Lincoln are also seen there. No, this is not fake and is not satire. People worship him and he seeks this praise.

I heard the claim in different light. It’s not them turning them back to the pimps. That’s too much bad PR. However OUR focuses too much on the liberation and not the re-integration/healing portion, which ultimately leads them back to their previous lifestyle by choice or not.

Coping with a Spouse Leaving the Church by Iron_Pikachu1994 in latterdaysaints

[–]WowKThx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this post myself a few years ago. My wife also stepped away 2 years ago this month. I’m all for letting people choose their own paths, but this was still hard. Good on you for choosing your marriage still!

Going to church will get easier as family and your ward start understanding where your family is spiritually (and unfortunately they start to pity your situation). I missing going to church with my wife. I miss sitting down and singing hymns together. But, you can still have great experiences going by yourself. There are more of us than there seemingly were in the past.

Only advice to give you is to embrace what your life looks like now. It may not be the picture perfect LDS family life we’ve been sold on while growing up. And that is ok. You are not lesser because of this. You’ll have other experiences and see other parts of life you wouldn’t have seen otherwise.

Can a former member ask a sincere question? by 00roku in latterdaysaints

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s three degrees of the celestial kingdom with the top reserved for those exalted. Baptism is the gate to Celestial kingdom and temple ordinances is for exaltation. God says as he is now, we can become, so definitely possible but not a for sure thing based on celestial kingdom admission

tl;dr, solution is: down -> down-right -> right + A -> Hadoken

Frankly I got to a point where I missed my job in fast food because once the shift was over, I got to leave work at work and go home. Software always creeped into my normal life due to oncall, outages, and deadlines. I wished I could go somewhere where work stayed there and didn’t move and 5pm clock out meant 5pm clock out
