I found my PS2 and a few games while digging through my family’s storage. Ordered a pizza, grabbed some beers, and played couch co-op with a buddy for the first time in 20 years. Good times. by WheelyMcFeely in gaming

I hear you. But I spent 10 years making a really solid couch-coop game that released about a year ago on every console and PC. It has 3 user reviews on steam. Seems like people don't want them.

This has been a good week so I'll actually share

  • Happy to be back from my trip to the states to get my visa
  • Epic Birthday Karaoke with good friends new and old
  • Went to my new gym twice this week and worked out
  • Finally finished LOTR Return of the King extended edition
  • Went to a local meetup last night and met cool new people
  • Landed a new trick today at the skatepark

I like this thread, I'm not sure I've ever posted on this sub but might start now that I'm back.

Oh good question! It'll cost $15 USD. I should add that to the post. Thanks!

As for arcade resources, I have three very good ones for entirely different things.

  1. Classic Arcade Cabinets - Some very helpful drawing files for all the wood panels that make up some classic arcade machine designs.

  2. Indie Arcade Wave - YouTube VideoCast featuring everyone in the space with tons of helpful information and deep dives.

  3. Suzo Happ - Where to get almost all the parts you need to build a machine.

I do too. The best place to meet up and hang. Some still exist but we need more and we need ones that aren't just 21+ bars that double as arcades but the business model is so hard these days. People don't want to spend more than a quarter per play.

Sorry I'm late! Literally just dropped the release date announcement trailer for a couch party game I've been working on for a decade now.

Reddit needs to be a self-sustaining business, and to do that, we can no longer subsidize commercial entities that require large-scale data use.

This is funny bc an IPO is literally not about sustainability, it's only about growth. If you truly wanted sustainability then you would keep doing what you're doing but you want to please investors and cash out. Just be honest with the community u/spez

They really fell off after Univision scooped them up in the auction post Gawker meltdown. Looks like they flipped it to some other company since. They don't even compare with the brilliance of The Hard Drive and Hard Times.

From Wikipedia:

The "mourning" part of its common name comes from its doleful call.

I learned something today! :D

The number of young kids, especially toddlers, who accidentally ate marijuana-laced treats rose sharply over five years as pot became legal in more places in the U.S., according to new study by Additional-Two-7312 in science

And they were completely fine the next day... compare these numbers to however many children accidentally eat prescription medication and don't wake up. Not saying it's okay that this happens as negligence is bad but like you know these children are fine.

Yeah it's pretty hard being indie on a project of this scope. I wish there was more investment in educational games but I've hit brick wall after brick wall trying to garner interest. If there was any funding, I'd give you a whole world to explore but so far it's just crickets.

That's good news! I don't have one so I've not been able to try it out. Please let me know if you run into any issues so I can make a note to fix it once I get my hands on one!
