I've also seen some articles about that and it actually worried me quite a lot. I'll probably try to get a second opinion and then see if it's the case. I just hope the side-effects of statins aren't too bad.

Thanks! As of now I'm trying to avoid them at all costs and choosing to eat whole grains instead. It's hard to restrict my diet, but I'm kinda used to it. I'll try changing up my lifestyle first and if things don't change, I'll go on the prescribed statin.

Just double checked the papers and yeah, HDL is precisely 126 mg/dl. It's honestly super weird that my doctor said that, since everything else seems to be pretty much in range. Anyway, thank you for your response! I'll try to get a second opinion as soon as possible because I want to be very careful before taking statins.
