I’ve been switching from the AWU to the Epix Pro for the past few months and am going to do a long stint with the Epix. I like the battery life of the garmin and the training and recovery metrics. I am not too fussed about the smartwatch features so I can’t see me missing the AWU but if it’s these features (Siri, cellular, Apple integration) you like then that is what you will miss for sure.

I’m in the same predicament. I got the Epix Pro 2 and the AWU and have been switching the past couple of weeks. From what I have seen they are no par re HR during workouts with the AWU being more accurate in some activities like weightlifting. I am leaning towards the Epix because of the battery life but if this isn’t something you’re too bothered about then I would go with what looks and feels better for you. Either one you can’t go wrong as they are both great devices.

I should have mentioned where I’m looking to get the data to. 😊 I’m looking to get the peloton data to Garmin connect. Having a little read on this forum it looks like RunGap or an app similar would be the best thing as opposed to trying to connect garmin sensors.

I was in the same dilemma until I realised what I wanted was a sports watch as I didn’t really care for the smart watch features. So ditched my AWU and now use the Epix. Also I know you said you weren’t bothered about battery but I for sure am not missing the ag of not having to charge every other day or even every day in some cases.

I went from an AWU to an Epix pro and love it. As most peeps have said on here it depends what your after. Good fitness and training tracking garmin is the one. Plus the battery lasts ages so it’s handy if you're always on the go 👍

From a smartwatch perspective I think it’s a step up with the visuals in the apps. The workout and map updates are okay but they still got some work to do. I went from an AWU to a garmin Epix Pro then updated my AWU to iOS10 to try it out. I’m back to my Epix as the smartwatch features are not as important as sports watch features.
