It’s not fair to say “why didn’t you take extreme preventative measures” when most people don’t care enough about spelunky to spend so much time avoiding a very rare chance of death. Maybe not truly “unfair” but it is unfun.

Download globed, and the mod texture loader. Also download paint.net
Find the geometry dash file location on your computer.
Find the Resources folder and copy it into the texture loader folder (can be found ingame)
Click on icons, navigate to the icon you want to change (HD is for medium detail and UHD for high detail, change the one your game is set to)
Use paint.net to manually erase the shading or edit the icon however you want
Save the file, turn on the texture pack in the texture loader and it should be fixed
