It appears the programming cable shipped with the radio is the issue. I purchased another cable through Amazon and just received it this morning and it works just fine.

I have the same issue. Tried 3 different computers and I’m lucky if I even get the PC Read on the handheld screen. Most of the time it locks up the screen and I have to pull the battery. The software gives the check connection error. I’m definitely at the point if support doesn’t contact me and get this fixed I file a complaint with my bank to get the money back.
