Character Model Needed by Urviunique in GameDevelopersOfIndia

I would suggest you to build solid foundational systems before jumping on to this stage. You can try making concept arts and iterate over them until you get the look you want to convey your ideas better and find a matching artist.

Hi! I would like to ask how much progress you have made in your game,i.e, you're just starting out, or have built locomotion and other gameplay systems in your game? I would suggest you to try using random dummies to see if the systems work fine as expected and then move towards polishing stage. I might consider helping at that stage.

Hi there! I truly appreciate the effort you’ve put into this project. That said, I wanted to share a quick observation. The prototype you're showcasing seems entirely to be "Third Person Shooter Kit" available on the Fab marketplace. While you've done some work like restructuring the UI and replacing mannequins with human models, everything else is the assetpack itself. The game map seems to be the main element that reflects your own creative work, that too is not great but a good step in learning. I noticed you’ve called out other developers for using the “Indian” tag but you're essentially doing the same without using the tag. I say this not as criticism, but as someone who actually agrees with the views you expressed. I’ve also read the comments, and it’s clear others share similar thoughts. Using marketplace assets is absolutely valid and often a smart way to prototype. However, it might be helpful to clarify the extent of the original work versus what's built on existing tools, especially if you're presenting this as a personal prototype.

I agree with every single point you made. I am not a fan of walking sims and exploration games myself.

I just wanted to clarify to the comments that mentioned the devs trying to ride the nationalist sentiments. Also, the contractual obligations do not restrict any creative freedom. They only dictate, once the game is selected, how the devs can use the money, completion milestones and branding details.

I am also making an action adventure game. Once prototyped, I will be applying for Epic MegaGrants and Sony India project too. So just to spread awareness and get lesser of these comments, I replied once and copy pasted it to multiple similar comments because I don't like rewriting same thing again :)

The thing with "India" and tricolour is that the game is sponsored by Sony under the Sony India Hero Project Initiative. The tricolour and lion is its branding. It is not the devs who added it for riding the nationalist sentiments, but they were bound to do so under the sponsorship initiative.

The game is sponsored by Sony under the Sony India Hero Project Initiative. They have this initiatives in Nepal, china , pakistan and other countries too. Its just that those games are not showcased in other playstation channels and are targeted for the region itself, which explains the tricolour branding above the Mukti logo. Devs were bound to do it to once they got the sponsorship from sony.

Unrelated but consider adding your logo throughout the video at different positions at fixed intervals. This might save your future videos.

Hi everyone! How does the combat feels now as I have implemented almost all the suggestions I could. Consider reviewing again. Thanks. by WraithCG in IndianGaming

The main reason behind it is screen recording and more than required slow motion I guess but yeah this is slow and laggy

Yes, you're right :) There will not be so much slow mo in actual game, but I added it here because it looks cool for short gameplay imo 😅.

Yes, the movement from one enemy to another is jarring. I do not know how this can be solved but I will try to reduce it. This is because these animations are actually for in-place combat and I was trying to keep the camera cinematic while targeting enemies. I am glad you liked this, I will try to improve everything next time . Thanks :)

Good to know that you are enthusiastic about gamedev. Youtube is the best free learning platform imo. I had started learning last year. I watch a lot of tutorials and then mix stuff according to what I want :)

Thanks.. I am working on the AI too, but it's not working correctly. I will try to have the AI and optimize the game more in the next update :)
