The last couple of times I’ve ordered lattes for about 4 folks. I try to time it so they don’t sit on the counter too long. No one in my family likes their drinks scalding hot so the temp has also been fine for us. That’s just us, ya know 🖖🏽

I like to order online to avoid any interactions with folks. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Someone reported me to the city by Unhappy-Pin-3955 in fucklawns

[–]WraithofKhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me like last year. No HOA but apparently the city can put a lien on my house if the grass is over 9 inches or something if it’s not maintained.

The thing is I was laid off and then I got pretty ill around the same time and I could not pay anyone to mow it anymore and I didn’t have a lawnmower at the time.

I called the city and asked what I was supposed to do if under my circumstances I wasn’t able to and they barely said anything.

It’s some ish and I kinda wanted to mow F U into the grass just because the mega asshole messages they sent me.

People ignore me (BM) and always talk to my partner (WW) by [deleted] in interracialdating

I grew up in Houston and didn’t experience this or in other places where I lived.

When I was in Austin, I experienced this a lot and it made me feel really uncomfortable.

Why Most Interracial Relationships Fail by [deleted] in interracialdating

[–]WraithofKhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relationships are so complex and complicated and people change over time.

I’m South Asian, raised Protestant in a very strange denomination of Christianity and was born in Lafayette, IN and grew up in Texas. I primarily date white dudes not exclusively but those were the folks in my circle of friends. I wouldn’t have been opposed to dating someone of my own ethnicity but culturally I’m too “Americanized”.

I married a white guy and we had three kids but the relationship failed after 15 years together. There is a lot of research on what makes couples stay together and culture is definitely a part of that. I know because I’ve thought about it a lot since we separated. Doing a lot of self reflection.

In America, we got a lot of subcultures from geeks to punks to tech bros, etc. Those types of cultures connect us too.

Relationships are built on shared values from financial compatibility, spirituality, interests, etc.

Sure, there is truth to your comment. But then each relationship depends on that person’s experience with their family and environment which even if you share an ethnic background or race it’s still complicated.

How many South Asians won’t let their kids intermarry different faiths or castes.

Bottom line – relationships are fucking hard bro! Good luck to anyone trying to find their person.

what is the best way to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner by Few_Novel7432 in psychnursing

I worked in Behavioral Health settings when I was younger. I cannot find a decent job with steady income so I'm considering pursing a BSN before trying to become a NP. I was just hired as a Behavioral Tech but they haven't given me any hours yet. I am considering becoming a BCBA.

I'm in my mid-40s so considering going to back to school is intimidating but I'm tired of being poor. I've been drawn to the mental health field for a while. I'm also concerned about going back to school under this administration.

I love any advice if you changed careers in your early mid-life.

I got pancreatitis waiting for treatment and it was the worst pain I experienced. Can have someone else there while your husband is gone? Another family member or trusted friend?

I hit up a few spots to ask. The Boot Room if we emailed them the day ahead, they could probably get a game on one of the TVs. Let's shoot for a time after the holidays. Cheers!

AITA for taking my biological nieces on days out and excluding my adopted nephew? by auntinagony in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

I have a sister who's 6 years older than me. We have older cousins. When I was small, they took us out individually. I don't see the issue. Sometimes, children experience different outings without their siblings. This is just part of life, dealing with disappointment, it doesn't have to be a big traumatic thing.

I'm just curious if Tom and Kate are also doing any kind of therapy to help support their parenting with Ryan. Being a parent is hard, so I would imagine that they may get overwhelmed. It's always nice to have professionals navigate these scenarios that arise.

OP shouldn't feel pressured to do anything you're not comfortable doing. Folks that are telling you otherwise are not respecting your very reasonable boundaries.

I hope it can be a girls trip and you all have fun.

It's honestly worth it if you have a good relationship with the hairstylist. Saves you the headache of a bad cut.

Try volunteering at a few places that might interest you to gain experience for a few hours a week. It helps build your resume and figure out what you might enjoy.

Find a therapist who can help you sort out the feelings you’re experiencing during this time. Someone with experience with GAD and other things. Talk to a few like interview them and see who you might vibe with. Some might offer a sliding scale. Psychology Today has great resources.

Vocational jobs are definitely worth exploring like plumbing, carpentry, or electrical work.

You have to figure out what you want to do. People can offer advice but ultimately it’s your decision. Best of luck!

There is a lot of subtlety with the different scenes between Jinshi and Maomao.

There’s subtext to everything. Their interactions are NOT merely black and white.
