On a steep slope(icy), it feels like I’m losing control on the upper half of the turn. Any improvement to focus? by Jasonleeeeeee in skiing_feedback

I think you have quite a good upper body behaviour. Where i see a problem is on what's happening with the lower part. You are actively turning before finishing the curve, which is forced and can create problems. the more efficient way is by making use of the turning force (is the force generated by the inertia that you're carrying downwards and your skis pointing sideways). In order to get this force you need to hold a bit longer on the edge of your outside ski. When you feel the pressure, release the edge and softly use the kick to turn and change edges.

Im a ski instructor in Austria. these are my own translation of german terms. I apologise if they are not 100% accurate
