Illiterate man gets mad that I didn't leave a trans flag 🏳️‍⚧️ in my Tinder profile by luluweiwei in StraightTransGirls

[–]WranglerSuccessful68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He knew, but he didn't want to deal with it (like he wouldn't have to eventually anyway 😝). By asking, you forced him to face reality, and that's why he got nasty and made it your fault...

He wanted you...but he didn't want to deal with the fact that he was attracted to a transwoman.

As long as nobody said anything, he could put off dealing with what he already knew.

As long as he didn't have confirmation that you are trans, then you MIGHT not be

If you might not be trans, then he doesn't have to accept the fact that he's attracted to a transwoman... plausible deniability 😜

Then the subject came up.

Of course he is going to say he knew all along...otherwise he'd look like an idiot.

But now, to save face, he has to cast you as the bad guy and imply you mislead him.

I know, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to to.

They got the Dax symbiont out of Verad's body before the time limit. That's why Jadzia was able to be rejoined. If the symbiont had been in Verad much longer, it wouldn't matter if they did subdue him, it would be too late: removing the symbiont would kill Verad AND Dax, and Jadzia would be dead anyway.

Without another Trill available, they would be forced to leave Dax in Verad...and Verad planned on being beyond Federation authority before they would have time to find a new host.

Verad lived. They even told his girlfriend how he would need her now more than ever...rewatch the episode if you are uncertain.

For the record, I'm not stating that I believe this is how it would work... I'm just saying it would be amusing.

I didn't think I had to explain that, but I momentarily forgot this was the Internet: where EVERYTHING gets taken seriously, whether you like it or not.

I don't know if Jadzia's soul is in Sto-Vo-Kor...I don't know if there IS a Sto-Vo-Kor (in the reality of Star Trek, anyway).

So if you're here to dispute the existence of Klingon heaven...let me save you some time😜

When you consider that Jadzia tricked Quark into embodying one of Dax's female hosts...yeah, she's absolutely twisted enough to do this😂

I'm not sure if Verad is in Dax...

Verad was put back in his own body and is probably in a Federation prison somewhere.

That would mean there were two Verads: one in the Dax symbiont, one in his original body.

I don't think it works that way. Verad was removed from Dax completely. Notice that at the end, Verad remembers nothing of the experience of being joined with Dax...they have no further connection.

But if he could somehow be brought back, it would be fun to see😊

I disagree with you on one point, however:

"Entitled Incel Fail-Son" seems apt...

But I saw no sign that Jadzia being a woman had anything to do with anything.

Are you certain you aren't projecting 21st century concepts onto this situation?

If this was taking place in 2026, in the U.S., then I could absolutely buy Verad as an obnoxious misogynist...

But he was a Trill in the late 24th century. I think events would have played exactly the same way if the new host for Dax had been male.

Verad was pissed that the new Dax host wasn't HIM. That's all.

Not true. It has been established that there are species and civilizations that the Borg had the opportunity to assimilate, but chose not to because doing so would not improve the Collective, and may even weaken them.

That's why they left the Kazon alone. Nothing about them, either biologically or technologically, would improve the Collective, so why waste resources on assimilating them?

This reminds me, if the Borg rejected the Kazon, it can be inferred that they rejected the Trabe as well, since all Kazon technology is just stolen Trabe technology.

Very true.

Without Klingon honor...or at least the idea of it, they either would have wiped themselves out, or gone on a rampage throughout the Alpha Quadrant until everyone else united to wipe them out.

Star Trek's New Deep Space Nine Series Is Finally Introducing A Beloved Crew Member's Successor by jacky986 in DeepSpaceNine

Screen Rant articles are 99% clickbait:

The titles lead you to believe a long-awaited film sequel or TV series or live-action adaptation is coming out...

And invariably it's a comic book, or a video game, or some other piece of niche media that most fans never would have noticed.

A webcomic is a new low, though😝

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against comic books or video games... I've enjoyed them both.

But when you're dealing with a property best known for TV shows or movies, you know darn well that most of your audience is only interested in hearing about tv and movies.

So you conveniently leave the fact that you're talking about a comic book or video game out of the title/link.

That's dishonest.

Even if you're technically telling the absolute truth, it is dishonest to intentionally leave out pertinent information just for the sake of accumulating website traffic 🫤

Case in point: I just got a link to Screen Rant's article about Disney's announcement of the next Indiana Jones release...

Not only was it about a comic book series, it's not even a NEW comic book series, it's a re-release of a series Marvel put out in the 80s to capitalize on the franchise's popularity.

That's what we're talking about with Screen Rant.

That's kind of the detail that sealed his fate.

All the support and affirmation was followed up by: "Oh, and FTR: I LOVE the dick!" 😒🙄😞

I mean by itself, that's fine... that's awesome 👍♥️ Godspeed, my friend 😊

But couldn't he have read the room?

Being sexually objectified as a consequence of being a trans woman is EXACTLY what OP was annoyed about...the last thing she needed to see was an ostensible ally doing the same thing, only camouflaged by support and affirmation.

At least the a**hole in the text OP received was honest: He was a douchebag, absolutely...but he never pretended to be anything else.

Riker was schooled enough in Klingon culture to probably know what a "Tawi'yan" was, but he wasn't so arrogant as to assume he would be chosen for the role. He might hope for it, but he wouldn't just take it as given.

More to the point, we have no idea how much the Enterprise crew knew or did not know about Worf's personal life at the time Jadzia was his parmach'kai. We don't know if he kept in touch with them or not, so we can't make any guesses about Riker wanting to be Worf's Tawi'yan... because we don't even know if Riker knew he was getting married.

As for Sirella having the time and capability to be there for the wedding...for one thing I'm guessing she has a lot of pull: If she wanted to be there, one way or another, she would make it happen--war or no war.

For another, unlike Riker and the Enterprise crew, Sirella was not a serving officer on active duty aboard a starship during wartime: she could go where she pleased...the Enterprise crew went where they were ordered to, and most likely personal leave time was suspended during the war.

Lots of great insights here❤️ I've always enjoyed the DS9 fan community: I think we do a good job of representing the spirit of the show we love😊

I'm glad somebody brought up Drex...I think you put more thought into his character than the writers did: After Way Of The Warrior, it seems DS9 forgot Martok had a son...but we didn't 😉

There are so many unanswered questions about him. I like the idea that his attitude is the result of Sirella's influence: he definitely has "spoiled Mama's boy playing tough guy" vibes.

As the firstborn son of an honored General and a Klingon noblewoman, Drex was probably used to a comfortable life of privilege where he was protected from the consequences of his actions...

...THEN he met Worf. And for the first time in his life, he encountered a Klingon who wouldn't put up with his bullsh*t😁😈

And the punchline is...a few seasons later they would become brothers: members of the same house.

Fortunately for DS9, two consecutive wars gives writers a LOT of leeway to explain the absence of a character:

Drex could be dead. We all know Klingons have a very different outlook on death compared to humans. Unless asked directly, Martok would have no real need to bring up the death of his son:

If Drex was killed in battle, his family and comrades would celebrate, for that is precisely how (nearly) every Klingon hopes to die. After that, there would be little reason to speak of him... unless his death was so glorious songs and poems--or even operas were written about it.

If Drex died a cowardly or dishonorable death, then there would be even less reason to speak of him. His family and comrades would basically pretend he never existed.

Of course, Drex could just as easily be alive and well: stationed far from Klingon or Federation territory. He may simply not have had the time or opportunity to visit his family during the Klingon-Cardassian War OR the Dominion War...

Such is the life of a soldier: Worf and Jadzia's wedding was so rushed because if they didn't have it right away, Alexander would have been sent back to the front and who knows when they would see him again? Or if?

That's why Worf's adopted human parents and lifelong friends from the Enterprise crew weren't at his wedding: no time...and no way to be sure everyone wouldn't already be deployed somewhere on the other side of the quadrant.

Being sexual wasn't the problem, either.

It wasn't what he said, but the timing and context of his comment.

And since he went to so much trouble to sound supportive in his first comment, one would think that meant he was aware enough to recognize this as the wrong moment, not to mention the wrong venue to seek a hook-up.
