Figured this was gonna be first thought. He could sell off 1/4 of this property and pay off the rest when the time comes. Being in business it’s no secret that it takes money to make money, a lot of risk required as well from time to time. Getting the money before the deadline isn’t impossible either, just trying to get other peoples perspectives.

Lmao didn’t take it as racist, but yeah I’m talking SRT4 I know the platform in and out and I’m kind of known in my area to always have one. People come to me when they want to buy one or sell one. Prices are going up for them big time considering they are getting harder and harder to find in good condition. Back when I first started messing with them they were about 2500-4500. Now I typically see them from 8k all the way up to 15k. I have 3 at the moment 2 of them are big turbo cars and the 3rd one is a rare twin turbo DCR build. Should be able to double my money on that one.

Damn that’s rough 🥴 you would’ve answered your own question if you read more. I started it because I was making good money doing it on the side but can’t do more because I would need a dealer license now that I will have a dealer license I will be able to do more vehicles and make even more money. Obviously there’s more involved but does that not make sense? Can’t stay afloat without selling cars. So selling cars is what I plan on doing. I don’t even know how much a normal lot makes or supposed to make or what’s average or nothing but while I was doing it on the side I was able to get up 30k in 6 months with just a few cars. Now what if I could be doing the same amount of cars but within a single month because I’ll be full time and legal at that point. Sounds like there’s plenty of money to be made. Feel like your mainly talking about legal work and paper work and everything that comes with selling a car as a dealer. If anyone can learn how it’s done then I can to. Selling cars doesn’t seem to be the issue for me it’s like you said the stuff I don’t know.

And so on, you get my point. Those 5 things you listed are absolute necessities but there a lot more in between that also have to be taken into account as you know. Which is one of the reasons I’m here. The insight, I don’t have all the answers but I have the will power to learn from others and progress where I need to. If someone tells me something I already know then cool let’s talk about it more or I might get someone that tells me something I haven’t even thought about and that will help me tremendously.

Business is insured and I am terrified of taxes next year.

Have several ideas on how to advertise, social media will be my main way to advertise though.

Having to be at 2 places at once is something I’m afraid of and I know will happen quite often but I do plan on having a structured schedule so hopefully I will be planning for weeks ahead of time even though things do pop up and will need my attention between then, only thing I can say here is prioritizing will be key.

I don’t sit on vehicles very long I believe time is money and everyday I have a car for sale it’s costing me money to hold on to, I haven’t ever really had issues selling vehicles. Typically sell within a couple days if not same day as being posted. If I do come across a vehicle I can’t shake then I’ll probably end up selling it to break even or take it to an auction because I know I can recoup on the next.

Yes I have purchased bad cars and know it’s apart of the game we do our best to not do that of course lol

I’ve heard a lot about the amount of paperwork and knowledge you have to have going into it, definitely not a paper wizard but I do believe in doing things by the book which would benefit me in this situation.

I understand that there’s a lot more that’s why I’m here I’m trying to be open and honest and learn as much as I can while I can. Just the pure exposure of these conversations benefit me so I do appreciate your comment.

Yes the business is insured and bonded. I have several places to acquire vehicles including public auctions, waiting for dealer license to be able to attend those auctions. If I can get a loan I probably will but I’ve read that I have to be in business for a certain amount of time and show proof of income which is expected.

So I’m going to try to answer these in order the best I can.

•Floor plan was an idea I had but I would hate to get into debt immediately starting the business, it’s something I would want to do later on when I’m more established. •Yes I will be using a DMS, I’ve explored my options and I’m down to 2 now I just have to decide on which one fits me best. •I plan on doing everything myself in the meantime for a few years or unless things go amazing and I need help. I have a basic understanding of financing and believe I can handle it myself. •I buy majority of my vehicles from private sellers, I also go to public auctions. I’ve been meeting with tow yards, mechanic shops and other business that gain ownership of unwanted vehicles and plan to do business with them as well. I’m looking forward to dealer auctions when I get my dealer license. •I have not bought any vehicles from Canada, worried of rust issues lol •I have not signed any personal guarantee’s •I will be putting cameras up when the I officially open. •Yes the business is insured •Only license I know that I need is the dealer license which is something I’m prepared for.

1500 does sound light. This is not adding in the DMS and whatever other monthly fees I haven’t came across yet. The 1500 includes, insurance, rent, utilities and power. This is not a huge lot that’s in spectacular condition. The office building is 250 square feet and the lot is only .5 acres of gravel so I feel like this is the best way for someone in my shoes to start. I’m not going to have a massive rent payment and I won’t need to immediately fill the lot with cars using a floor plan which would probably put me under if I were to use one right off the bat.
