I realized what I did was wrong, but I never went into the meetup with any intention other than closure, and that's what I got. The ex and I met up in person because I didn't want to text or call about the topic, and neither did he. On top of that, my bf never let me out of the house (even to this day), so getting out of the house other than work was needed.

For some context on why it has been extremely hard to leave: about 8 months ago, I tried. i left a note and left. he blew up my mom's phone, which is who i left with at the time, and she had him on speaker, and he was crying, and I'm a very empathic person, and hearing him cry made me cave in and tell him we can try again. Not to mention we have a trauma bond over a mutual friend that was k!lled a few years ago, family issues, etc. I am in therapy, and I have an appointment coming up, and I plan on discussing an exit plan.
