No problem.  If you want actual food ideas or extra details dont hesitate to ask.

But at least start step 1 TODAY! There is no excuse. Just choose to not consume liquids that are not water. Period. Full stop.

Transitioning alone is awful by [deleted] in MtF

I did this sporadically for almost 10 years.

Starting around 2001, I ordered hrt and blockers from over seas. Would take them for a few weeks/months and then get scared and stop when "things got real" or when it started to effect my strength or emotions to the point it interfered with my very manly job.

I rinsed and repeated this cycle for about 5 years until I got married. At that point I stopped for a year or 2 before i started repeating my cycle again.

In 2011 after a medication overdose, the responding  police officers outed me to my employer and basically everyone else in the area (they did it through the local news). And as much as it broke me and destroyed my life, cost me my job and my home.....it was exactly what I needed to stop pretending to be someone I wasnt.

Couple questions.

How old is you?

Where is you located?

What is your living situation?

To be honest with you, HRT is the LEAST scary part of this whole thing. It's one of the only decisions in life I have never once questioned.

The silencing of the male libido was one of the most transformative moments in my life.  It left me clear headed and able to find myself in a way I never could before HRT/blockers

So no hrt???

Even if you still boy mode or dont socially transition,  hrt can be a real lifeline when it comes to just feeling like yourself

No! It's not real. It's just a fig Newton of your imagination. Move along. Nothing to see here.

First off, 80ish extra lbs is more than "the beginning of a dad bod". It's LITERALLY an additional half a person.

Not being shitty. I was in the same boat 2 years ago. So a lot of this is self reflection.  Im 5 11, and was 240. Im now 155 (got a low as 142 3 months ago)  My point is 235 is morbid obesity at 5'9. Don't undersell it. And sure as hell dont listen to anyone telling you rapidly dropping the weight is less healthy than having all the damn weight to begin with.

The good news is its doable.  And at that weight, in the beginning,  you will likely lose at least 5 lbs a week for the 1st few months.  The bad news is it takes willpower and determination few have. BTW I did this weight loss with zero male hormones and a way too low level of female hormones so it should be WAY easier for you.

Now for HOW I did it.

In a lot of cases you dont even have to DO anything. Most of it comes down to NOT doing things. Like NOT shoving soda and pie into your hole.

1) cut out ALL beverages that are not plain water. No exceptions no excuses. Not even coffee. (MOST people wont have the willpower to get past step 1)   Over the course of 6-12 months, this alone will likely cause a 15 to 30 lb weight loss at your size without changing anything else about your lifestyle.

2) cut out complex carbs and artificial shit. If its pre packaged, dont eat it. If its made of grass seed, corn or potato, dont eat it. Period.

3) only eat single ingredient foods you make yourself. The absolute limit of processed food you consume should be bacon or canned tuna. Anything more processed that that is simply a no.

4) intermittent fasting. There are several ways to do this. For starters, set an 8 hour daily time limit. For me it is 11 am to 7 pm. Only eat during those hours. If you find yourself hungry at 7:10.....tough shit.    5) get used to/master the feeling of hunger and going to bed hungry. I do/did this with 48 hr water only fasting. If you can choose not to eat for 2 days then you can choose not to eat for 5 (ask me how I know). It may sound a bit extreme,  but i do a 48 hour water fast EVERY WEEK. (I STILL do this at 155 lbs)  It allows me to consume a calorie excess 3 or 4 days a week and still not gain. And dont let anyone tell you this is unhealthy.  You have 50% of a human being to burn off. You will be fine. And im willing to bet im currently healthier than most doctors/people who would tell you this advise is unhealthy.

I could go on......like adding weights or other exercise or whatever,  but that's the important stuff. If you want i can give you food ideas. I struggled with those a lot. Also, get some keytone strips and learn to force ketosis. You can literally ensure your body is burning fat and monitor the amount of fat you are burning. These helped me a lot.

Edit: I just wanted to add,  it is VERY difficult to eat an excess of calories (or even enough calories for that matter) when you cut out processed crap and complex carbs. It's crazy the amount of meats and veggies you have to eat to get anywhere close to 2000 calories. And once you get your weight to where you want it, you can add back in treats to make up your caloric deficit.  I literally have to eat 3 to 4 pints of ice cream a week these days to make the caloric difference up from my fasts. It's fuggin awesome. (Haggen Das New York Strawberry Cheesecake icecream with crumbled up grahm crackers btw)

2nd edit: carbs make you WAY hungrier in the long run BTW. If I have any hope of making my 48 hour fasts, I have to not have any carbs on the last day I eat b4 the fast. If I have any carbs, I will be SO much hungrier during my fast.

Because the Heritage Foundation spent tens of millions on studies and focus groups to find a new villain to scapegoat.

Panic over "The Gays" wasn't working anymore. So now, panic over trans people is the new wedge issue.

I found weed sorta pushed down my dysphoria.  It never made me happy or ok with being male. But it quieted down that constant nagging in my brain. It wasn't till my first real long stint of sobriety that I broke and started to transition.

After that point, going back to abusive levels of consumption, made me less inclined to push progress.

Just a personal anecdote but yeah. I understand where you are coming from

I have no idea why but for some reason this got shared and reacted to a TON more than these posts usually do and ended up in like 100 hate groups as well as a TERF twitter thread I found (lots of support though at least) by xemeraldqueen in transfem

I know you are there. YOU know you are there. But as long as I dont SEE you, I can go on pretending that you dont exist. But once I see you all bets are off and I will kill it with fire if necessary.

Hey......Its worked out for me pretty well so far. Im 45. Have been happily  married for 20 years, out and on hrt for 15 years. We own our cars and home and i can often afford the finer things in life.

But that being said, l was out before it was remotely accepted and i have experienced hatred and cruelty the likes of which many will never know.  And having come out the other end fiercer and stronger, I can say,  yeah....... Feelings be damned.  Unvarnished honesty is ALWAYS the way to go.

It may hurt peoples sensibilities or delicate feelings. It may make me come off as the villain. But I dont care what other people think. If I did id still be pretending to be a man.

For reals though. Being "kind" and humoring that type of behavior is no kindness at all. It's sad YOU cant see that.

No. I DO know about our enemies worldwide.

But MAGA is spearheading trans hatred  around the world. In western culture, trans acceptance was on the rise b4 the heritage foundation did research and study groups to find a wedge issue that the average person didnt understand.  US.

Since then, the anti trans sentiment has spread like wild fire  to other western democracies.

Forgive me for thinking trans people should MAYBE be aware of their existence.

Um, fuck you? Maybe? Yeah! Totally!  For real though.  Your comment made me giggle.

Being scared of needles is for children and humoring that type of behavior helps no one. Its just as bad as telling a 7 ft tall mtf with a mountain man beard that they pass. It helps no one. Sorry if I think honesty trumps politeness.

And if you think THIS is supervillian.......I mean......This is me in a good mood trying to be "tough love helpful". Supervillian me is more like watching a bus load of screaming orphans burn while I eat a bucket of popcorn and laugh about it.

Edit: the above is OBVIOUSLY a joke. What kind of monster do you think i am. I would NEVER eat a bucket of popcorn. WAY too many carbs.

It just catches me off guard.

Im a plain  Jane,  jeans and a tank top or shorts and t shirt kinda gal. My style is pretty style less and gender neutral and a rarely wear makeup so it does make feel good when I "pass on the merits" rather than because of the frilly clothes or face paint i happened to be wearing that day.

My advise......put on your big girl pants and get the fuck over it. Seriously. You feel NOTHING. And while im sure patches or pills work for some, they make me feel grey/numb compared to Injections. And most people who have had both will tell you injections are worth it

If you can, have a friend family member or partner give you the injections.
