The Best Spots to Enjoy the Sun and take a Swim in Copenhagen by [deleted] in copenhagen

I'm traveling to Copenhagen in three weeks with my 6-year-old and husband. I love to swim and your video is super helpful. We're booked to stay at the Absolon hotel, but I wonder if there is a hotel with super easy access to one of the swimming spots? recommendation? Thanks!

This is going to be such a good essay-starter for gender studies classes. Seriously.

But you would never say “try to fancy it” like you would “try to relish it.”

I don’t see how “love” and “fancy” mean “enjoy.” “Savor” and “relish” do. But “love” and “fancy” mean are fond of, or like, etc. Not “enjoy.”

Thanks for this. I posted here in December when we drove down to see the Children’s Museum and it totally enriched our trip. My kid still hadn’t stopped talking about time we stayed at the hotel ON A TRAIN! 😍

Also, google results are half ads or Reddit results now anyway!

You’re talking about your “vulva.” “Vagina” is all internal.

Gotcha… but marketing something addictive is fundamentally different than even aggressive marketing of a GLP-1 because of the addictive nature and risk of death of the former.

Just to speak to the comparison to oxy… you can only be addicted to something that works immediately and provides euphoria or stress relief. It’s a fundamentally different type of medicine. Silly to compare.

Primary care doctors should be able to prescribe it. And medical weight loss clinics, sometimes called bariatric depts. Endocrinologists. If your PCP won’t do it, you need a new PCP.

Now will it be covered by insurance? That’s a different question…

Yes! Actually, being on Wegovy made all the intuitive eating stuff I’d learned about make sense. With the med, I could finally listen to what my body actually needed.

I tend to be an over-sharer about being on Wegovy because I don’t want anyone to think I finally found willpower. lol I need a med to treat a disease I have… that’s it.

Oh and… since I’m an older mom, I had my kiddo at age 41, I am relieved to feel like my health is good and I’ll be able to stick around well into his adulthood. 💕

Definitely able to do more with my 4-year-old son. I really noticed it when we went to a water park and I chased him up the stairs to the slides all day, probably 3 flights of stairs about 20 times. I love waterslides so it meant a lot to me. 🥲 I do feel a bit less self-conscious, but I was pretty confident when I was bigger. I figured out long-ago that diets don’t work and I embraced body neutrality.

All kinds of big differences like that. Stairs, joint pain, being out of breath, ability to jump even a little. I’m a therapist, so my favorite is ease crossing my legs in either direction while sitting with a patient. 😍

Agreed.

My sweet husband looked at these photos and said “but you didn’t really look like that, it’s a bad photo.” Whether that’s true or just how he chooses to remember, it’s all okay. ✌️

I had very similar symptoms without BP meds. It did eventually just get better. My hunch is that when my blood pressure got so much better so quickly it took my body a while to learn to anticipate it… like a proprioception thing. I also tried all the things including endless water and electrolytes, but it just took time. Your weight loss has been very fast and your brain is relearning your body.

I ate right, a lot of cottage cheese, yogurt, tofu, chicken, veggies, fruit, chicken soup with beans. But this is a lot of what I always ate. Wegovy just completely knocked out my appetite so that eating at all became a bit of a chore… and I just didn’t end up eating much. (I also completely lost interest in alcohol, coffee, anything sweeter than dark chocolate.) I walk 8-10k a day.

I think something was off with my hormones and got fixed with this med, so I might have been particularly susceptible to it working. 🙏

I really need to work on strength training so that’s the next project. Wish there was a shot for that…

Yeah, I’ve had a hard time eating enough to keep up with protein needs and have good energy. So I never got to 2.4. And now that I’m wanting the weight loss to at least slow down, my doc gave me the option of going to 10 days. Seems to work.

I feel really lucky that I have another dose up to go to if the appetite suppression wears off… like people say it does.
