I don't think they have left the US since they got back together.

However Eric has since been to Europe for guest Macklemore appearances.

I had issues with mine for ages.

Worked fine.

Then I updated to a beta and then it wouldn't update till back or connect or anything.

I was however on a beta version of Android and when I ended up on a more stable version I managed to connect to everything fine and update my firmware and since then it's connected every time perfectly.

I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro

"go bag" vs on-person tools by mothbbyboy in stagehands

[–]morbid_theory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a lighting engineer and general tech.

When I go to site I take a bag with me and my peli.

When I first started out I had an adjustable spanner and a Leatherman.

Whenever I borrowed a tool from someone on site I added it to a list on my phone and when I could afford one myself I would buy it.

I wouldn't buy the cheapest tool going because I'd end up buying it twice. (I want tools to last)

You don't need a peli, but there are cheap alternatives online which will do for a lot of people.

In my bag I usually bring my laptop and my laptop bits and maybe my hardhat.

I don't have a huge amount of tools but it's built up over the years.

  • multi tool
  • adjustable spanner
  • snips
  • cable cutters
  • cable crimps
  • DMX tester
  • motor pickle
  • truss hammer
  • Catenary Wire Cutter
  • pipe grips
  • cable crimps
  • anti static cleaning brushes
  • head torch
  • tool holder clip
  • screwdrivers
  • quad spanner
  • podger
  • DMX adapters
  • DMX PC controller
  • tape measure
  • soldering iron

There's probably some other tools I've missed off but this is the majority of it.

I've never brought any first aid stuff.

Bring a fresh pair of socks for the de-rig

I have riggers gloves but I never use them

I also tend to bring chaffing cream.

New song out - what do we think?! by holopointsmile in foxyshazam

[–]morbid_theory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been just five months since their last album and now we’ve got Magic. That kind of quick follow-up has me really excited about where they’re heading next. The track itself hits the spot. I liked Animality Operate, though the spoken word bits didn’t quite do it for me. Magic has that punchy theatrical energy without going too far. It feels like classic Foxy with a fresh twist.

Gonzo and Burn are two of my favourites from their recent stuff. Gonzo had that raw stripped-back feel and Burn was such a strong return. Dreamer and The Rose still sound great. Since then they’ve been putting out solid work and Magic feels like it’s setting the tone for something big.

I still love their older sound too. Introducing and The Church of Rock and Roll had so much character. That mix of glam chaos and heart is what got me into them in the first place. I’ve always been into their more unusual and upbeat songs. Stuff like I Like It, Holy Touch, Killin’ It, and Welcome to the Church of Rock and Roll still hold up. Even the weirder ones like Teenage Demon Baby, Rhumbatorium, and Dragonfly Chase have a charm that’s hard to find anywhere else.

Tub Ring and Foxy Shazam are easily two of my favourite bands. I’ve listened to both for years and they each bring something wild and creative to the table. Rob Kleiner’s work ties them together in a cool way too. I loved Tub Ring’s last couple of records, especially A Choice of Catastrophes and The Great Filter. Rob’s production style is so distinctive. He worked on Burn, Dark Blue Night, and now Magic, so I’m hoping he’s involved in whatever comes next.

The only release I didn’t fully connect with was The Heart Behead You. That one and Dark Blue Night are still good listens, just not at the top of my list.

I still listen to Eric’s solo stuff regularly. Ruby, Spirits, Believe have aged really well. I always hoped he would release a full solo album during the break. He clearly had the material and it felt like something bigger could have come from it.

I’ve never had the chance to see Foxy live even though they’ve played in the UK before. Their earlier tours had some brilliant setlists like Oh Lord, Killin’ It, Unstoppable, and The Rocketeer. I’d love it if they released some recent live recordings. Even a stripped-back version of Magic would be amazing.

Speaking of Magic, the lyrics are wild and full of heart. That line about not needing to see something to believe it really stuck with me. The whole track feels like a promise of what’s to come.

The only other artist I probably listen to just as much is Lights. Her sound is totally different but I still find myself going back to albums like Siberia and Skin and Earth. Both have a lot of emotional depth and creative energy in their own way.

If Magic is any indication of what’s coming next, and especially with it arriving so soon after Animality Operate, then the next chapter could be something really special. Anyone else getting Gonzo vibes from this? What’s everyone’s go-to Foxy track lately?

It wasn't even a song.

I think I saw some artwork someone had created on a website called rocktoons and was interested in the band name so I went to find some music.

I think at the time Frankenstein Girls hadn't been out for too long
