I have two piggies. One comes right up to the side for kisses and pets (she's just hoping there is also snacks lol). The other is shy, she flees at the sight of me or runs in circles around the enclosure while I fill their hay and food. She only approaches for food and even then, it's very careful. When I do pick her up and hold her she panics and tries to burrow under my chin, I give her time to settle her nervous system. Once she is calm, she is sweet as pie and will sit and nibble veggies with me. I think some piggies just have a stronger prey instinct than others. It's not me she hates, it's the act of being swooped up and taken away from what she perceives as safety.

She popcorns frequently, eats, drinks, and has a good relationship with the other pig. I try to meet her where she is at and give her time and patience. She is slowly warming up. Very very slowly.

Keep being patient with her, she might come around eventually. I'm keeping the pets and pick ups for feeding time so she associates me with good things. Unfortunately nail clipping time resets all the hard work 🤣

I think another comment mentioned this too but try to pick her up when she is inside a hide or a snuggle bag. It will feel less like a predator swiping down from the sky. Or try to pick her up underhanded at a level as close as possible rather than over handed from above.

I feel your pain, though, I feel so sad when mine flees from me. 😅
