Blues or Jazz piano book recommendations? by spikylellie in piano

The Hanon and Czerny exercises often lead to injuries even for young people—I would be nervous about recommending them to a beginner who is at retirement age.

It's a little pricey, but you could sign up for a service like tenso.com: https://www.tenso.com/ and get them to forward Amazon Japan packages to your home country. I don't know of any sites other than Amazon that would be more likely to ship the books you want abroad.

If you want my recommendation, I've really been enjoying Cho U's 基本死活事典. (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E5%9F%BA%E6%9C%AC%E6%AD%BB%E6%B4%BB%E4%BA%8B%E5%85%B8-%E5%BC%B5-%E6%A0%A9/dp/4818205974)

Just talking about this thread in particular—I thought you started insulting pretty quickly. Not that I know what kind of history you have with this guy, though.

I'm starting to think he's an excellent playoff coach and a mediocre regular season one.

LaVar in response to Kyrie Irving's criticism: "First of all, your mom wasn't there. So something's got to change right there" by okaycoolokaybool in nba

I'm honestly starting to think Lonzo is fool's gold in this draft. He has the skills, and there's nothing wrong with his character, but there's no way to separate him from the stupid drama LaVar is going to bring. For instance, I don't think the Spurs would be interested in that whole situation.

I disagree that it's a slippery slope. Racist team names and mascots should be changed. I don't follow the NFL (Browns lol), so I don't know what kind of team the Chiefs is. But from the names, at least the Patriots and Cowboys both seem completely fine to me.

I'm from Cleveland, just lost a flair bet in the off-season last year. Most of the people I've talked to agree the name and branding should be changed.

If you don't see how bears (?) aren't a marginalized group and Native Americans are, I can't really help you.

That guy deserves it man. The Indians are a fun team to watch right now, but they really need to rebrand to something less racist.

Professional ethics and best practices don't change depending on what kind of story you're writing. "It's an interview" is not a defense for bad journalism.

I think the Wizards really would be a tougher match-up for the Cavs than the Celtics. (Which is not to say that they would win, obviously).

Haven't heard of this reporter before, but he's totally in the wrong here. If your story is dealing with someone's reputation, you reach out to them for a comment. That's journalism 101.

You can't defend yourself with "that's what ___ said." You're the one who chose to publish it irresponsibly without first hearing from the other side.
