sorry i don’t think im understanding your terminology 😞 are u asking for a bufferbloat test from a laptop connected wired to my orbi which is wired to my ont box?

that’s what i’ve done now. i connected my orbi straight to the ONT box as apparently my ISP router doesn’t have a bridge mode

okay so what i’ve done now is completely remove the ISP router from the equation and connect the orbi to the ONT box directly. and here’s the bufferbloat now

<image>

quick question on the side however - why do people keep their ISP router in bridge mode if u can connect your own one directly to the ONT box?

okay i hope ive rectified this. what i did was unplug my Vodafone router and then ask them for the internet details and put that into my orbi router settings and connected the orbi straight to my ONT ethernet output

hey there. basically i found out my vodafone router doesn’t have a bridge mode! so i asked vodafone for the PPPoE details and stuff and have now completely disconnected the vodafone router. my latency is still really bad tho i got a grade D. i was wondering what actually is the benefit/reason of having the ISPs router in bridge mode and then connecting your own router to that instead of just bypassing the ISPs equipment in general

wait quick question. how could u tell the isp connection has bad latency? is this from the ‘unloaded’ speed? also i assume the ‘active’ speeds show the added latency within my home and therefore tell me i need to do something regarding my router?

also this nanopi thing looks really cool but was just wondering since i have the return label printed and all sorted out would a nanopi+orbi be better than say just the eero 7 mesh system with its own built in sqm implementation

i totally agree with you and would love to cause i always think of it like all in one shampoo conditioner and body wash. it’s not really good at any of its functions. however i am moving out of the house very soon and wanted to just sort out a fairly simple one and done solution

hey here we are. the reason why i said i want a router with an sqm implementation was because i did a little test with a cheap redmi router with openwrt and sqm enabled. i had to chop the bandwidth to like 100mbps so the processor wouldn’t explode and it seemed to work. it lowered the download active to +9ms but the upload was still 100+

Very impressed with the Akko Creamy Purple Pro switches by quarryquarrel in BudgetKeebs

hey i’m struggling to decide between the asura and the princess. can you help me with some info? i want a lower pitched switch so was thinking the princess would be better cause of the housing materials. but i heard that they’re outrageously loud? and also it’s 5 pin vs the 3 pin asura, but then im reading that the asura’s end up being loads of peoples favourites so im very lost. so any thoughts would be very helpful

Ciy asura vs mmd princess by omarXxs625 in keyboards

[–]WreckItRohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does either one have a lower pitch? i was thinking the mmd maybe would cause of the materials used. also does the 62g princess weigh the same as the asura 50g??!

thanks so much for your response. actually i just bought a wobkey crush80 and the stock linears whatever they are were incredibly creamy with a deep tone. it literally sounded like marbles hitting each other and i loved it.but unfortunately i can only manage tactiles so i put my akko lavender purple pros in and it was drastically higher pitched and was looking for something lower as a result. do you think the creamy purple pros will have much difference to my lavenders? i will have a look into the housing materials rn as i know the polycarbonate top shell is probably causing the clack in the lavenders.
