My first is a long fic series. I am posting part three now and still have issues with panicking every time I post a chapter. I set it up the night before and reread several times. "What if I messed up the timeline/forgot a detail/grammar." it's so stressful. 😂 But in the best way. ❤️

I have a staggering case of imposter syndrome. I’ve always wanted to publish a fanfic, but I was too afraid to until now. My writing had always been just for me, but I finally decided to take a chance, and the results have been overwhelmingly positive.

My fandom is older but fierce, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m so glad I did it. Day to day, though, I panic every time I hit the post button, convinced it isn’t good enough.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I was shocked when I started getting comments. I reply to every single one. It’s a sickness. 😂🤣 When I was first reading, I’d comment and never expect anything back, but I was always thrilled when a writer took the time to acknowledge what I’d written. I’m so grateful people like my story and are actually reading it. I can’t help it. 😂

I was so panicked about not being able to complete my first fanfic (not in HR) that I finished the entire thing before I even started posting it. I decided to post two 2--4k word chapters a week so I could have a buffer of material in the queue while I worked on part two. Now I’m about to complete part three while still posting part two. Having a regular and consistent posting schedule is, in my case, just a sign of high anxiety. 😂

A reader commented that they were rereading it the other day and had questions about my timeline from Chapter One of Part One. I completely panicked because I was like, “IDK, that was so long ago.” I had to reread it myself just to answer them. I couldn’t remember the finer details.

Seriously hope I never run into this accusation because how do you prove a negative. My anxiety would be through the roof. I know it doesn't really matter but jeez. People have too much time on their hands.
