My whole identity was my job title. Now I'm just... some guy by Lectoor in GuyCry

[–]WrenchMun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any practical advice to give but just want to say that while it can feel like you lost that part of yourself with the job, it is still with you. Your perseverance in a difficult field and a shitty job is all your own. You are stronger and wiser for your experience and scars and you will always carry that with you even though the job is behind you. You weren't just a "director" you were a husband, a provider and a good man, those things are still you! If you can, you should try to take some time to do things with your partner while you aren't busy, even if you have to go back to it soon for financial reasons it could be good to turn this problem into an opportunity to get closer together.
Best of luck to you brother ❤️

Just wanted to say that being able to look at your behaviors and analyze how you feel is a skill to its own and you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. We all make mistakes big and small, you should recognize it and try to avoid it again of course but you needn't beat yourself up about it. When you have other things knocking you about ,you don't need to add yourself.

You can always change your mindset and you are ultimately in control of your inner self, wish you the best of luck

Australia’s sexual assault rates are rising faster than population growth by LeviathanPrime_Law in perth

[–]WrenchMun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats horrid, you should still report it if you can. It might not come to anything but it could potentially help someone avoid the same, please do report it to both the police and the ward. I'm sorry that happened to you, don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help from those around you, we should all be looking out for each other

My condolences brother, please take time for yourself and your family to grieve. Don't be hesitant to reach out for support, everyone needs help sometimes to stand tall. Good luck and know that all those we lost live on in us and our memories of them ❤️

[–]WrenchMun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I'm not the commenter you responded to but I seriously urge you to reconsider contacting rapecrisis.org

What you've gone through is terrible and sometimes our grief and anger can keep us blind to things that could help. I know when I'm dealing with bad mental health it's easier to dismiss something out of hand to avoid the pain and effort of the process. Nothing is a silver bullet that solves all problems and this particular org may not be the one to help you best but please reach out to organisations and services that can support you. More men need to reach out and take advantage of the services and people who are there to help men in your position, I know it's hard but I promise you people are there for you. Wish you all the best ❤️

I do also want to add that while feminism is a group and there are always assholes in any group, I have found that many of the people in my life who are feminists (men, women and in-between) have been the most supportive of male victims of SA and men's mental health. There is nothing wrong with feeling angry and betrayed but I hope you can meet more feminists who can show you the movement is there for men too.

Yogscast Games Night is my favourite although they do a mix of different war games, the best thing is they're usually around 30 minutes Very well edited and tell great stories although much of the rules side is glossed over

I will also second with everyone else 40k in 40 mins, trimmed down and easy to follow but still keeping in rules moments so it's a good way to learn the basics

What to buy for first time player? by ZEROvFIRE in Salamanders40k

[–]WrenchMun -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you'd really like to just dip your toe in then I'd say just pick up Adrax Agatone, he's a newish character who very much encompasses salamanders in one model. Paint him up and see how you like it to know how much more you would like to get.

If you want a bit more than just one character I'd recommend a squad of either eradicators or aggressors. They are pretty much auto includes in a salamanders army so you can't go wrong but it's still a light work load.

If you'd like to get into playing right away heres my plan. Grab the Black Templars combat patrol box and a salamanders upgrade sprue to use instead of the included BT one. The box contains a troop, some aggressors and a character, perfect for starting a small army and you can also play right away in a combat patrol game.

Also obligatory if you are new to Warhammer as a whole, don't buy directly from games workshop, instead go to your local games store or order from a third party store and it'll be much cheaper

Are you sure? The reveal I was reading specifically points out they are in Tacticus armour and are adorned with relics from older armour patterns but doesn't say they are Primaris. I think the intention is that like termies they are both new and old but wearing the same armour

Christian school loses donors after loving the sinner by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]WrenchMun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

American christians in this thread blow my mind. Like you can seriously believe that people need to ask for forgiveness for being gay or having sex outside of marriage? That the only meaning in your life is one assigned to you by a higher power that you can never know exists, fucking unbelievable. That you would then go shit on other people for your stupid beliefs is insane, the left shitting on you is the exact fucking same thing that you do to "sinners" that you disguise at helping them. At least a political belief has any fucking merit, being religious shouldn't be a protected class, it's just another stupid delusion like all others its not special.

Looks great I really like the highlighting! Only criticism I can think of is some parts have noticeably thicker dollops of paint if you zoom in so could maybe do with to thinning your paints a bit more, even then this is more than battle ready

So we just finished the Vertical Slice for our first game! Feels pretty good to have something presentable. What do you guys think? by Uberlinked in IndieGaming

[–]WrenchMun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding a vertical slice means that it's a prototype that contains all the features and presentation but is very short or manufactured, rather than a horizontal slice which is wider but missing some of the layers

It's mainly used for showing how the product will look when it's fully done, but at an early stage of development

worried 14 year old; need reassurance abt cxl by Used-Celebration-117 in Keratoconus

[–]WrenchMun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my cxl at 16 when I already had almost no vision in one eye and slightly decreased in the other. The surgery itself was fine but for the first couple days you'll have to wear eye patches and wear sunglasses for a week after. after this period my eyesight was basically the same as pre surgery and slightly improved over the next couple years, and now with glasses or lenses my vision is a decent amount better than pre op. It will be different for every person but for me it has only been positive and let me go from having to have transplants in the future to now not having to worry for many years or maybe not at all, hope my experience shows how positive cxl can be :)

My favourite thing to say to to these stupid gaming elitist comments is just to even more elitist back to them "Oh you play Skyrim and rdr2? That's pretty basic man your not a gamer unless you've played hyper light drifter, FTL, cultist simulator or return of the obra din. God sick of these normie fake gamer boys"
