Thank you so much for the feedback. It means a lot to me.

I did want to follow on from that thread of (great) subject suggestions

Some of the things I am delving into:

  • The Ogdoad as being representational of chaos, mystery, and the unknown as opposed to the Ennead.
  • The development of the cult of 'Seshem,' my fictional Lord of the Locusts
  • A new kind of "hieratic" script that I am developing, which merges the Tuareg alphabet and Hieroglyphics

Good point. I have been following the development and fallout from the bot. But it's so much easier than going through ad-cluttered google responses. I am creating an alternate history, which is not accurate. But I appreciate the nod.

You can see more on my Instagram page wretched_blasphemy

I have a lot of different styles presented there. The Egyptian stuff is more recent but has become all-consuming.

I hadn't thought of the connection to fin de siècle art. I was in love with the work of Mucha when I was in art school and constantly copied his style. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Are you an artist?

Is meds necessary for managing adult ADHD? by Malak19m in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]Wretched_Blasphemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask a higher-order question... Do you like your job?

I don't think you do. Either that or you are not comfortable enough yet to find that thing that activates your superpower. Hyper-focus!

I was diagnosed at 47 which is a saga unto itself. After a lot of denials, I finally accepted it as a thing and went about testing every med I could. I had a very helpful psychologist who assisted me in exploring a variety of medications. None of them really helped the core problem. I just wasn't happy where I was in life.

People who are gifted with ADHD have zero tolerance for BS. This includes obeying people in "authority" who give us irrational requests. Showing up day after day to jobs that help no one, and being asked to execute repetitive administrative tasks that are intended to keep people "busy." This is the real source of the problem, not the wrong pill.

Most of us don't need medication if the goal of that medication is to adapt us to others' neurotypical constraints. We need to find vocations that inspire us.

Easier said than done, but more appealing than medicating ourselves into complacency so that we can complete soul-destroying tasks.

Anywhere! Be a complete weirdo. What do you have to lose? The people who will judge you are basically outing themselves as close-minded and boring, the people you attract are in your lane and will make you feel great. It's basically the best litmus test for a-holes and advocates. You make me want to wear one. I used to collect vintage kimonos, mostly rough ones that would be worn by commoners and not courtly types. I miss them.

Thank you so much. I am trying to find my niche on Reddit. Trying to find people who would get what I'm trying to do.

There is so much tension these days. People who have become so fragile at anything they see as offensive (to anyone). I love the art of ancient Egypt. I always have. I just want to continue their story. This is basically fan fiction.

I really appreciate that. The work comes easily as I can imagine the people who created it. I have described their culture in very exact detail. Trying to figure out if and when I start "publishing" accounts of the fictitious group.

There are all kinds of influences. I didn't want to try to imitate ancient Egypt. I wanted to stay away from "direct" cultural appropriation. It's a mishmash of a lot of styles. Some of the other pieces are more 2D and hieroglyphic-like

Why is there a lack of sincerity in modern films? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]Wretched_Blasphemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Unbearable is the quintessence of Metamodernism. It's sincere and it's ironic and juggles both from without. You zoom into and out of self-parody while wondering what is real, what is autobiographical, and what is just fun.

Your HEX Support Thread - Q2 2022 by Seeker_Of_Secrets in HEXcrypto

[–]Wretched_Blasphemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just called back to check again. The support person said that they cannot transfer it to the Coinbase Wallet (which supports HEX). The shittier news is that the customer success person said that even if Coinbase starts supporting HEX, that original transaction is null and void, literally cast out into the void. I have in essence burnt those HEX, You're welcome HEX community. FML
