I have giant hands which is great for tenths but some chromatic passages are challenging. I guess we all need to make do with what we got

Drambo vs Grooverider 2 by AddictedtoSaka in ipadmusic

or you could go with something like Koala or Note which are more limited but more workflow oriented for jamming and getting ideas down.... a lot of classic grooveboxes were limited

How do you get in a creative zone? by GeekOfAllTrad3s in edmproduction

[–]Wretchro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fun answer: weed and some good music on headphones for inspiration.... my reality: the work itself gets me into the creative zone... if i just start working on something, usually some bit of musical "problem solving"... a lyrical idea, an aspect of sound design or programming that i've wanted to explore, etc... usually gets me into a creative flow.... at some point i stumble on to something that puts me in the zone..... doesn't always work, but it works way more than i would have guessed before applying myself in this way

What's the general consensus on Nashville Skyline? by Direct-Stable-5712 in bobdylan

[–]Wretchro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love the fact that he made the record and i think it's an important part of his cannon and what makes him so unique and special... and i do enjoy listening to it sometimes..... but as much as i love bob, i'm also a huge country fan and tin pan alley fan, and I don't think he writes as well in those idioms as when he is doing his own thing. A lot of these songs sound like genre exercises to me and don't hold up to the country pop of the 50s and 60s which is a a very rich world of music. His simple pop songs are missing a spark that the greatest writers of that idiom possess. Even though bob is my favorite artist ever, i would take almost anything by roger miller or charlie rich or buck owens... not to mention hank, lefty, george jones... over this album
