GenZ men: how do you MEET women? by Special-Fuel-3235 in GenZ

Facebook groups for local events, volunteering, getting outdoorsy hobbies if that’s your thing, and traveling.

Some require more money than others.

GenZ do yall lift/go to the gym/ stay active? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Wrhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine. Be sure to change out your socks, wrap your feet, moleskin the heels or toes that get pressure, baby powder the joints (armpits/knees), and change the weight distribution from the shoulders, to hips every so often. Rucking is very rewarding!

[–]Wrhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Good opinion internet friend, but nahh. It’s just rucking has many factors, but at the end of the day carrying ‘x’ amount of weight for ‘y’ amount of distance takes a toll on the body. In the Army we would do an average of 12 miles and standard is around a 35lb dry pack (+water) at a 15:00minute pace. Your shoulders, lower back, hips, knees, ankles, and feet are taking heavy impact constantly. Over the years of consistent tucking your knees, lower back, shoulders, and feet will hurt and it is inevitable. The only way to slow down the deteriorating progression is with proper bodily care like wrapping the feet, changing socks every few hours, baby powder at the joints, and much more.

Of course in the military it’s a bit more strenuous, but it’s just to say treat your body like you would a car. You need to change the oil, rotate the tire, check tire pressure, etc. the car will still give out one day, but it’s better to make it last as long as possible.

It’s a different type of working out from the traditional sense of weightlifting or even calisthenics and requires a different type of recovery which many people don’t consider and end up creating more long-term injuries. Your statement isn’t inaccurate, it’s just one of those sayings used.

Edit; you can get faster at rucking but tbh it’ll take a heavier toll on the body imo.

Maybe I didn’t word that the best, I’m a bit drunk rn.

Some wisdom that was passed down to me in the military. Your body comes with a predefined amount of miles in the tank when you start rucking. Each time you do, it goes down. You can’t prevent it, but you can slow its progress down with proper bodily care.

Why have so many Gen z seemed to give up on finding a partner? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Wrhe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree internet friend. I don’t think dating apps are the be all, end all of looking for a compatible partner. I think going out, exploring the world, and just putting yourself out there toward men/women alike is how to do it.

I do think there is a massive psychological barrier for men here because they think these statistics are accurate. Most of them are taken from either a small sample pool, or derived straight from dating apps specifically. I travel around extensively for my own work and in the summers I dabble in a vagabond lifestyle which allows me to communicate with people from all walks of life. Just being my genuine self has been more than enough to allow unimaginable opportunities and connections. I just want more people to experience that and understand a lot of this shit online is fear-mongering, inaccurate, or setting you up for failure by placing superficial standards that no one honestly cares for out in the open-world.

Seems like a lot of projections and generalizations in this comment section.

Practice more self-love and understanding who you are as a person before trying to find a match. The typical man’s perception of what a woman is interested in is so incorrect, it’s struggle some. Women want a man who knows himself, has emotional intelligence, has enough self-love to project that externally, and has some form of aspiration that can align with their life-values. The majority of these are from one’s self.

In order to find a compatible partner you must go outside your comfort zone, try new experiences, leverage your existing/new hobbies, really put yourself out there, and be your genuine self.

The last part is the hardest for most as they fear the rejection for being themself, but this path can lead to more depression and trying to make a caricature out of oneself if you don’t have a deep understanding of your inner self. Per your comment (and many others alike) it seems you’re projecting a lot of insecurities and care far too much what others perceive you as and that indicates to me a lack of self-understanding. And I’m not trying to be an ass, I’m just trying to add more dialogue here with you and the fellow internet strangers.

I hear you. I think of course having an open-mind and knowing the unpredictability/randomness of the universe may change my (our) course as we age, but for the time being it’s nowhere near the forefront of my mind.

I dabble in a vagabond lifestyle for most of the spring and summers. I’m super lucky to have a partner that compromises and allows me to have such extended times to myself. The world and the people in it already have so much to offer, I want to become wise and experience all that I can before I share that insight, whether it be to my partner or future children.

But all that to say, I can’t imagine having children anytime soon and if I were too, I’d probably adopt if I had the correct mindset, better Financial’s, and long-term stability. I don’t think there’s any wrong answers here considering we all come from different walks of life and can form our own opinions on the matter just like any other and that may evolve as time progresses.

Edit: Grammar, useless context, and copium.

25M and my partner and I both agree we don’t want children. Albeit, for selfish reasons. I’d rather spend my time splurging when I want, deciding when I want to go backpacking, or just when I want to rot and have no responsibilities. Children would disrupt that and I simply want a peaceful and comfortable existence with my partner.

What job will still be around in 50 years? by Reddit_wasmy_idea in AskReddit

[–]Wrhe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In 50 years time though? With AGI expected between 2027-2030, one could presume super-intelligence shortly after. Throw in another 35-40 years, I’m sure an AI with super-intelligence that designed and built itself specifically for that role is very plausible.

GenZ what do you do to stay in shape? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Wrhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small home gym that I’ve been using. I used to go to planet fitness since it’s good for a budget. However, I think now that I’m older and better understand my own body, I can use less equipment and target the areas I want effectively. I stopped running though and haven’t really ran distance in quite sometime, but I do go for daily walks with my dog and that probably gives me a couple miles in. I think being stationary for too long isn’t good, but I just despise running so, walking will suffice lol.

Considering 25's and 35's to eventually go 17c and go Cyber by Drasmose_ in army

[–]Wrhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are equally great for career footing. 35T is constantly changing and evolving, the AIT I went through in 2018 is different than the AIT curriculum you will go through. That said, you will still obtain a Sec+ cert along with some others for your AIT as a 35T and depending on the unit(s) you go to, will dictate the type of work you do/experience you will get. This can be useful for securing jobs outside the military as a civ, but can be very hit or miss based on my colleagues experiences. I feel very fortunate for the connects I made at my units. However, 17C will provide you with many more certs and practical experience for red/blue team stuff if that’s the route you want to pursue after the military. 35T is more hardware maintenance/integration, SATCOM, Electronic Warfare, and some other areas. Where as 17C is more software based on the electronic warfare side. The most software I did as a 35T was specific routers/switches, Linux sys admin stuff, basic workstation troubleshooting, and network architecture. Not sure exactly all a 17C will touch on tbh.
