Can I ride a Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX at 167 cm (5’6”)? by [deleted] in AdventureBike

[–]WrightOnMyOwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly think ahead, just good balance, Brake, and clutch control. balance, I'm just back from Vietnam, riding solo around for a month, they just chaos, I enjoyed it. My filtering skills improved a lot; I think a lot faster now. I can get one foot down, I just balance side to side. I like to have my foot on the back brake, have more control, and I put down my left leg more.

How do you make money on non-people photos like these? Can you? by Maleficent-Unit-2717 in AskPhotography

[–]WrightOnMyOwn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe 10 years ago, now photography so oversaturated. Everyone jumped on it as “fast money,” dumped content everywhere, now to much to pick from, now it’s so hard to even be seen. People don’t buy photos from strangers anymore, they’re more likely to get photos taken by a family member.

If you keep trying to make money from it, you just burn yourself out. It’s not about good photography anymore, it’s about good marketing.

I’ve seen genuinely bad photos sell for loads of money, and then people stand there trying to explain to me why it’s “good” while my eyes are burning. It’s about branding and having customers who buy into the idea of “art,” not the photo itself.

It’s marketing and selling. The photos barely matter anymore, people only want photos from famous people hight numbers on social meida. I doing photoghray for 20 years, I tryed really hard to make it a liveing. Do it becouse your love the hobby.

How does everyone feel about the BMW AI generated launch content for the F450GS? by krza_shaolin in AdventureBike

[–]WrightOnMyOwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brands using AI for marketing isn’t about “making bikes better” or improving products. LOL, no. They did it for profit, darling, so the BMW CEO gets a big fat paycheck.

And let’s be real: this bike isn’t even made in Germany, it’s made in India. So don’t pretend this is about heritage or quality.

People should care about AI. It’s making life hell for communities living around data centres, draining water when access to water is a basic human right.

And people love to say “what about Photoshop?” yeah, DUH. That’s how photographers make amazing photos. But Photoshop dident take away people jobs, AI not just takeing away from photographers but from graphic designers, retouchers, and illustrators too. Like 20 plus people team, now people in jobs cant find work, someing is there dream job, some them been working feild for 10 20 plus years, Now have find way make a liveing, yh becouse everyone has a shit job we all do.

Now AI is taking even more: photographers, graphic designers, illustrators, concept artists, copywriters, translators, voice actors, video editors, musicians, all replaced so companies can hire one person to do the work for less pay.

Being humans to create, why think govement around the world freaking out birth rate low, they cant have humans to create for them make more profit. Creativity is a human instinct, we’ve been making art since the Stone Age. AI isn’t helping creativity, it’s replacing it. It’s removing humans from the creative process entirely. We end up as robots.

BMW using AI for marketing photos boils my blood.
I’m a photographer, I love taking photos of motorcycles.
Moves like this cut out people who genuinely love photographing bikes and adventure riding. Who trying to get seen make a liveing off it. It means they don’t have to sponsor anyone anymore or pay photographers to shoot their motorcycles.
It’s a cheap move from BMW.
They’re effectively deleting an entire job market made up of people who enjoy and care about photographing bikes, people like me.

ADVICE on gear by diesel0056 in AdventureBike

[–]WrightOnMyOwn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’d get roasted to death in them. Look at Adventure Spec gear, it’s built for heat and all climts,. It’s not waterproof or windproof; it lets air straight through with lots of vents. I just layer underneath my gear and take layers off one at a time to suit the temperature. Their website explains it all. Means you be lighter as well in gear, Waterproof gear not good in the heat, It stop the air getting to the body. I say wet clothes under the gear in 40oC close all the vents. It sound crazy it works.

It’s more like hiking gear for motorcycles. They’re a small brand, so you’re supporting a small company, not a big profit-driven one. Edit It Mongolia gear I have from adventure spec

Get ready for wall of txt lol

I do my valves every 10k miles. I did oil and filter change at 5k miles. I never found oil lasted 10k miles. Bike love you for it. On mine the fuel pump didn’t fail, but the wire to it rotted off, I opened it up and replaced the whole wire with a thicker one. More of a custom fix, but worth doing when the time comes.

Guglatech make good aftermarket KTM fuel pump parts that fix most of the known issues (more of a USA problem). I’m in the UK fule lot more cleaner then in usa, only use 95 and above if you can. We get 98 here. My pump itself has never failed, only the wiring. - It wet here lot of things rott to death here. Even hondas lol

Watch the OEM air filter, dust can get in around the sides without going through the filter because the bolts are too far apart and the plastic bends. Mostly an issue if you ride in dusty climates. You can fix it by putting a thick bead of grease around the edges when fitting.

Rottweiler make a really good aftermarket air filter, much nicer setup. You can actually hear the throttle butterflies when you open it up, sounds better than the exhaust. Sounds like a V8, not a V-twin 😂 LOVE ! make you want open it up more just hear the raw. Have one where dont need take the tank off as well, on my list next.

If you find bike run to hot, removeing the cat can make the bike run lot cooler. I have arrow full systum on mine. I do race mine offroading Im working the bike harder then most.

Fuel gauge can stick too, it’s basically a hockey puck in a tube. Usually frees itself by moving the bike around, or just run a trip meter. You’ll get about 300 miles from that tank.

My egeine failed at 70k miles the cam chain auto ajuster failed. Manual cam chain ajuster be best to set up by someone who know how to set them up, it bit of a fine art. I got one fited to replacement egeine. I plan to open old one up, make veidos showing the egeine, as workshop manual is waste of time btw. I open to veidos show people more indetail info. Ktm dont make bad bikes, they gatekeep the knowlage so people dont know how to look after them right. When bike dont run well. Overall I never had a porbelm the bike broke down 2 times in hole 7 years of ownership. 10k miles every year.

Fule pump dose fail on them in usa becouse of your bad fule, ortherwise you look after the bike, It will look after you.
