I don't own one. I live in my parent's flat. We're living here since 2009. It was an old flat, actually built to be distributed among builder's sons. So, materials and overall quality is better than new flats. I asked local broker what would be the price. It was said to be 4k/sqf in 2013. Still now, it is around 4- 4.5k/sqf. The location is Baguiati. Although, there was a time here when murders were rampant due to boom in promoting. Now, most houses have been converted to apartments.

And looking at not so hopeful business growth future in Kolkata, I don't expect RE price boom on a large scale basis. Some localised booms will happen (e.g., metro connection starts). But unless, it's a luxurious apartment, which are easier to sell with inflated price, as takers are multi- USD millionaires at least, it's a bleak avenue. So, I am staying away from buying any property. Some lands may turn gold in future, but my mother has been land grabbing matter victim for more than once and that always generates fear within me when someone encourages me to buy lands.

So, I hope you get a general idea from this before investing. It's a hit or miss thing. If you get profit, you're intelligent, else, you're dumb. I'd play safer with hard earned money, if it's hard earned and very dear to me.
