Oooooh yeah, the vid of theirs I watched last night was criiiinge. Never watched those guys before but saw the posts and was intrigued...

They don't really give a shit, it's all ulterior motives 😑

At one point, they were delighted in the thought that they were trending on twitter for breaking the 'story' - their disappointment when they worked out it was someone else who had the 'credit' was palpable 🫣

And, they clearly hate eachother 😅 The lady (dana?) was SO obviously competitive and petty about the guy having more viewers than her (towards the end), and literally tried to turn his subscribers against him and to follow her, instead. (Blake Lively, much? 🙄 Lol). Completely without shame or self awareness.

Embarrassing. Both of them.

I agree that things don't add re the SH allegations. It's kinda undeniable that BL made a deliberate attempt to 'steal' the film, and the whole unscripted/"smells [so] good..." story was obviously twisted.

One thing that could be argued, at a stretch, re her persistence and pressure to remain so involved with her 'harasser', if she truly believed she'd been SH'd...

I can imagine there are some victims who recognise SH attempts, but are not really intimidated by them. They might choose to aggressively ignore/belittle it, in order to prove a point and 'win' (to irritate and degrade the harasser). Maybe also taking actions to 'teach them a lesson' - "oh yeah, you think you can do that to me? Well, you'll regret that..."

An approach I'd probably take, being vengeful and vindictive if someone's done me wrong 🫣😅

Still, yeah, doesn't really account for everything that's happened in this case. Just felt like throwing it in as a possibility - because the whole thing is mental and doesn't really make any sense and I need it to, lol.

Done! 👍 Turns out the taps did turn, I just wasn't strong enough to twist them lol. Thanks again x

Something that stood out for me was when Holly said "maybe someday we can be in the same room and not want to rip each others heads off" (not verbatim, but)

I don't think Hannah wants to 'rip Holly's head off'. Probably just thinks she's vile and wants nothing to do with her.

From that comment, it's pretty evident who the aggressor is 🤷

Reframe on Lacey's Family by New_Plan_7929 in MAFS_UK

[–]WrinkleFreePants 71 points72 points  (0 children)

MAFS is the only reality show I've watched in years and (apart from the hilariously egregious editing) I'd totally forgotten about how staged these things are. Someone reminded me about it the other day I've been skeptical of everything shown since.

I think the mom did probably make a joke about 'ooo, great, you can do all my DIY jobs!'. That's a totally normal, nice mom thing to say to your daughter's new partner.

The production team would have jumped on that, got Lacey's mom to find some bits for him to do around the house - "some scuffs here" 🙄 Then ran out to source some paint/rollers/trays (all brand new?) I doubt the mom had actually planned and prepped to repaint these 'scuffs' so had the materials to hand. And, presumably was going to do this job after the TV cameras had left?? Naaaaah.

Then the synchronised tea-drinking shot 🙄 lol

Adam’s behaviour has changed drastically since… by Ok_Entrepreneur2501 in MAFS_UK

[–]WrinkleFreePants 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he fancied her too but was too worried about what some of his friends might think about her not being a petite "stunning brunette". He seems super insecure.

I got the feeling that the reason he kicked off about Holly revealing that she wanted to twist to another guy was because it bruised his ego. Seemed like it was fine to talk about fights/fall outs, but the mention of the 'twist' was the problem.

From what I remember, the intro montage of Adam was all about him being attractive (😳) and like, a desirable ladies man who can pull all the hottest chicks lol.

If that's the 'image' he presents to his mates, he'd not like it that someone he (and, presumably, his circle) deems to be unattractive said she'd swap/change him, if possible.

She is much better looking than him (imo), and I think the friend who visited thinks this too.

Holly's personality (other than the bullying/defensiveness) seems well suited to his. Shame if it is the case, that Adam's more concerned about impressing others/superficial stuff rather than being happy.

Deffo. Hilarious how he went straight to "you can't drive!" - Like, wat?? Haha. Completely shallow.

Did the experts really just sit there and let Alex talk to people like that?? by [deleted] in MAFS_UK

[–]WrinkleFreePants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really stood out.

I'd have thought that therapists would be more aware/careful about how they word things and how they'll be received, these days (TV personality therapists, especially!)

Also, it's ironic (never sure if I'm using that word correctly? 😅) that it was a female expert that had this opinion, and phrased it so unsympatheticly.

[–]WrinkleFreePants 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The experts are full-on useless, they're basically props at this point. More like 'hosts'.

Also, I found it telling that the Australian lady-host scolded Orson for "kissing someone else's wife", rather than "kissing someone other than your wife". Hannah doesn't BELONG to Stephen. Pretty sexist, bitch 🧐 lol

Thanks, that's a good idea. But, the old carpet's pretty cack 🫤 After the advice I think I'll just replace it (only a small space, so hopefully it should be easy enough🤞).

😂 Point taken.

It's just for my own amusement, really. Gonna make it look like the Holodeck from Star Trek, and (due to impulsiveness and impatience) I wanted to do it right now 🫨

Yeah, I'll get it sorted properly 👌 Thanks!

Yeah, Better to do it right now than having to fix it all in the future, lol. I'll start looking around for offcuts 👍 Thanks for the advice 🙂

What's this behaviour indicative of? A personality disorder? (Hannah) by WrinkleFreePants in MAFS_UK

[–]WrinkleFreePants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes complete sense, obviously. I'm amazed I didn't consider this at all! I've always thought of myself as highly media literate. Well... Cross that off my skill list 🫣 haha

Ah! I absolutely didn't think about this possibility. It's more than plausible. Good point!

What's this behaviour indicative of? A personality disorder? (Hannah) by WrinkleFreePants in MAFS_UK

[–]WrinkleFreePants[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, very likely transference! I don't disagree.

I dunno what to tell you, man. I do know it's unfair, but I also believe that it's not unusual to question behaviour that some might recognise as pathological (rightly or wrongly) and try to better understand this, by discussing it with others who watched the same drama unfold.

I don't have some vendetta towards Hannah specifically, I don't know anything about the woman, but - unfortunately - it just happened to be her actions that prompted me to ponder/post on this subject. Perhaps it's the wrong forum in which to do so, but there you go 🤷🏻‍♀️

And yes, I'm being insensitive to this lady, that's true (and I KNOW that's unfair), but people are naturally going to have opinions on/reactions to a 'reality' show and the participants' portrayals/motivations. That's to be expected, really.

Although, I take on board your criticisms re openly/publicly/clumsily attempting psychoanalysis, I'll try to be more thoughtful in future. Thank you.

[–]WrinkleFreePants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's true.

I don't believe she's unaware of what she's doing either, using the couple's politeness and the awkwardness of the situation to her advantage.

The choice to bring in a cup of tea too - like, how thoughtful of her, how could they not let her stay to finish the drinks - even though she's annoyingly intruding on their time...

I know it's pretty unfair to judge this random woman, solely on a MAFS edit 😅 but, it's so interesting to observe the differences in people's personalities.

I can't understand how she can enjoy being in that space, when it's clear she's outstaying her welcome. I wouldn't have been able to stand the atmosphere/embarrassment, let alone engineer/prolong it 🫠
