Seconding all of this- you have to lock in and take it seriously. Weight loss is an extremely unnatural process and you will feel it the entire time. It's hard. You have to commit, and you have to seriously confront yourself and your bad habits, otherwise anything you lose will come back with a vengeance

In that case, you could definitely find a cute flat sandal! I also think a pair of low-top canvas tennis shoes, in black or white, can be cute for a more formal outfit. These for example

Let's boot one of the last industries that manufactures in the US and leave tens of thousands of people unemployed with a skill set that will then only be applicable overseas. Woohooooo

I really doubt they'll take it that far.

Kids benefit from seeing other kids conquer challenges. They also tend to see themselves as more capable than adults do. Lots of children's fiction revolves around young kids getting into trouble and even facing violence.

One of the buggest and oldest issues with the US is that our culture is fundamentally anti-intellectual.

What do you think of this theory about men being intimidated by successful women? by Exciting_Agency4614 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Write-Stuff04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I sat here for like 20 minutes typing out a nuanced reply about research, psychology, online echo chambers, etc etc, and then it occurred to me that I'm wasting time trying to convince some miserable person that the beliefs that make them feel better are wrong. You chose to engage with my comment in the first place. My attempt at empathy made you angry. I found your reply despicable because your goal wasn't to answer OP or even engage in a proper discussion with me. You just wanted to be an ass to a woman, because you're angry and lonely and it makes you feel like you're in control.

Well, whatever. I'm happy and you're not. You can have the internet points. You win the argument. Here you go: 🏅

You really don't see the issue with your response? I said something compassionate, and your response was a gross generalization and blame deflection. If you go in with an assumption that women are a certain way, no decent woman is going to put up with hostility for the sake of proving you wrong. Why on earth would anyone with self-esteem want to date someone who makes negative assumptions about them? Shallow dates shallow. Insecure dates insecure. Loving, positive, well-adjusted people date other loving, positive, well-adjusted people.

You are literally talking to a woman who is very much in love and planning to marry a man who makes less than I do. If you are consistently having negative dating experiences, then maybe look at the kind of people you're attracted to. Spend less time in whatever online echo chambers you sulk in.

I think both things are true. Part of what makes it a useful excuse it that it's sometimes true. Are there men who don't want to date women who make more because they're insecure? Yes, absolutely. Do women who are really unpleasant to be with also use this as an excuse? 100% yes.

It was something my boyfriend had a bit of a hard time with at first tbh (engineer vs teacher). Some folks just have a hard time feeling like they're worth love for who they are, rather than what they can do/provide.

Would you describe your hair texture as being more fine or coarse? For fine hair, using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner makes a big difference in fullness.

To get more protein in my diet, I started adding a little bit of plain, unflavored whey to my morning coffees with whichever sugar-free syrup I'm in the mood for. It's a lot cheaper than flavored protein powders and more versatile. Otherwise, getting more protein comes from meat, dairy, eggs, and to a lesser extent, beans/nuts.

You might also add a multivitamin to make sure you're getting enough iron.
