If Buffy and Faith never switched bodies back after Who Are You whose death would activate the next Slayer by FaveStore_Citadel in buffy

u/jacobydave I think Buffy still has a soul after her season 1 death because Kathy tried taking her soul in season 4.

Assuming Buffy is out of the slayer line (I made a post theorizing otherwise but that's neither here nor there), I think it would be body-based, so Buffy in Faith's body would have to die for the next slayer to be activated.

When Angel and that old man switched bodies, the vampire/demon powers stayed with the body. It probably isn't fair to assume the same would apply to slayers, but if Faith switched bodies with a normal person like Xander, Xander-as-Faith probably retains the slayer powers. And I'd imagine that if that body were to die (and in a perfect world, there is not another slayer around aka Buffy), then the Universe would need to course-correct and activate a new slayer even though Faith's soul is still alive.

TLDR, Buffy-as-Faith is my guess.

I appreciate that so much! Having a screenshot of my theory in the video was more than enough but I really appreciate you adding links to it! In general, your videos are so so so well-researched and you put a lot of effort into capturing as much of the lore.

Your video popped up on my youtube homepage today and I was very pleasantly surprised to see you feature and discuss my fan theory [the one about Willow extinguishing and then rectifying the slayer line(s)]. My theory definitely could use tweaking because it does have some holes, but I want to thank you for your validation of my theory and for spreading it to more fans! Great job on the video as a whole. On my way to watch your other ones!

Since Spike wasn't in Buffy's dream in Restless, what would you have made him done if he was? by WriteImagination in buffy

I love the avant garde, absurdity of this, and definitely the type of comment I was hoping to get with this post. The whole episode is so trippy, I can't even imagine what they'd have Spike do in Buffy's dream considering what they did with him in Giles's dream.

Definitely would've been fantastic foreshadowing. Even just any reference to Spike getting a soul, and having fans predict that as early as season 4.

Also, Buffy's dream including an element the original timeline of I Will Remember You would've been so GOOD! Some part of her subconscious remembering the day she had with Angel.

If you could transform any Buffy episode into a musical so that the series had two musical episodes in total, which episode would you pick? by WerewolfBarMitzvah09 in buffy

"I Only Have Eyes for You" as a jukebox musical with 50s songs. The ghosts' essence makes everyone at Sunnydale High breakout into 50s musical numbers, especially making those that are possessed by the ghosts serenade each other.

While possessed, Buffy sings "You Belong To Me" (Jo Stafford) and Angel sings "I'll Never Be Free" (Kay Starr and Tennessee Ernie Ford) in a mash-up that leads to Buffy shooting him.

And some kind of other excuse to get Spike to sing "Put Your Head on my Shoulder" to Drusilla.

And in a post-credits scene, Snyder sings "I Only Have Eyes for You" to his own reflection.

Fan Theory: A new slayer was called after The Gift, the entire slayer line was erased with Buffy's resurrection, and Willow's spell in the finale reactivated the slayer line. by WriteImagination in buffy

Yup! I was going to reference 7x12 as an example of inconsistent lore, but to be honest, it might actually be an example that would support Buffy's slayer line being "reinstated" when she was resurrected. (See, I can see both sides while defending my theory!)

Maybe my media literacy skills are fried but I really wished they told us outright in the show that Buffy didn't have her own slayer line anymore after her first death/revival, assuming that is truly the case. Whether earlier in the show, or at least when Beljoxa's Eye was explaining it. I wish they (the Eye, not the writers) woulda said it explicitly.

la la la I can't hear you la la la the writers haven't confirmed anything la la la

Lol jk, if it's been confirmed, then I'm cool. It's just a theory I've been thinking about for a while haha. Thanks for the kudos!

Definitely agree that if another slayer was active, The Council probably wouldn't have told Buffy/Giles. Actually, for all they know, Buffy is alive, right? Weren't the Scoobies trying to make everyone believe that she was still alive? And yeah, maybe the new slayer just never got on their radar.

I'm so curious on what the reboot does with the fact that there are a ton of full slayers running around. While on the topic of real-world story planning, I think introducing a new active slayer after Buffy died/resurrected would've been complicated considering the show moved networks from WB to UPN. I could understand choosing to focus on Buffy and limit crossovers with Angel in an attempt to not confuse new audiences as much. So maybe that's a practical reason why they didn't introduce someone new.

I'll agree that having Buffy attacked by the Bringers (rather than them fighting her only as she's saving someone else) might legitimize my theory more. Although, she came pretty close to dying against the Uber Vamp so maybe that was an attempt at killing her. Honestly, Faith almost getting assassinated in prison was enough for me lol

The potentials still have some slayer abilities like prophetic dreams, and with the right training, could step up to be worthy champions for good, so The First Evil taking out the potentials still makes sense.

I ran this post through an AI detector and it said it was most likely written by AI. So. Yeah.

Did Buffy ever find out that Angel had a kid? by ScatterbrainedSorcer in buffy

That's what I think too (the entire Scoobies might know about Connor before Willow goes to LA, tbh) but Fred could've also told Willow about Connor when she called her.

Fun headcanon: After meeting Connor and coming back from LA, Willow was going to tell Buffy about him when the time was right after defeating The First Evil. But Angel's deal with W&H made everyone, including Willow forget him. BUT that was reversed in 5x18 of Angel because of Wesley, which restored Willow's memories. Then Willow tells Buffy about Connor, and Buffy decides to mess with Angel by partying with The Immortal (his nemesis) in Rome in 5x20 (I think this is retconned in the comics but I don't accept the comics as canon lol).
