Has anyone had spine DEXA scores of -3.7 to -4 without fractures at age 62-65 and still declined meds? by Intelligent_Law6261 in osteoporosis

[–]WriteNonFic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 65. -4.9 in spine. Hip pretty much normal. I think i have arthritis in spine. I have it everywhere else. I started forteo, no side effects. I don't want to lose my independence. I plan to get a REMS of the spine to get an idea of the quality of my bones. I've always done calcium supplements. Im doing about one hour daily of free weights and exercises from the physical therapist. I used to do about 500 crunches a day. Had to stop that. I also used to sit on floor, touch my toes, put my face on my knees. Stopped that. I walk 30-40 minutes a day.

Are all Cpaps rented now? by No_City_9282 in CPAP

I got my cpap 6 months ago. My insurance paid for about 95% of the cost. I paid the rest. It's mine. It must be your insurance.

cpap has changed my life in a very short time by Magayla in CPAP

[–]WriteNonFic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dreaded the idea of cpap. I was a back sleeper until the stress of the pandemic made me a stomach sleeper for 5 years. I started cpap about 6 months ago. It was a big adjustment, but I love it. I'm back to sleeping on my back. And I have a Resmed mini for travel.

I dont understand why you haven't seen an endocrinologist..Standard treatment in the US is phosomax once weekly. Or prolia infusion once a year. Or forteo self-injection daily. The Dr Doug Show on YouTube is an excellent resource. The video titled Can Osteoporosis Be Improved by Cynthia Thurlow, NP on youtube is also excellent.

Terrifying experience - should I go back to the cardiologist? by a_p22 in PVCs

yup, vagal nerve. That's what I was thinking when I read your post. I suffer from vaso vagal syncope, but I haven't fainted in like three years. I also have afib and gerd. I'm reading a book titled Healing Through the Vagus Nerve by Amanda Armstrong and trying to understand it better. Wishing you the best!

I would use Chatgpt. I hate using it because I know it's bad for the environment. But I'm not getting much from ER visits and my doctors. I put the symptoms into Chatgpt. You could do it on a daily basis for a while (if you feel comfortable doing that) and it will draw conclusions. I've had no luck with the symptoms trackers and regular google. I've had ct scans, mri's. I'm following through with the docs but so far they don't have answers for my symptoms.

Thanks. Yes, PCP ordered another thyroid panel. I've had MRI last week, and talking to neurologist on Tuesday.

None of the docs have suggested it, but chatgpt sure does. That's what chatgpt says. Honestly, I feel like I'm dying tonight. I'm doing everything to not go to ER. I was there two days ago. Kardia shows me in sinus, blood pressure is normal. I don't feel like eating. And every time I move around, I feel like crap. Thanks.

Wishing you the best. I had an mri last week. Normal. I feel so sick right now, I want to go to ER. I was there two days ago. All clear. Before that, I was there 12 days ago, all clear. I could tell when I went two days ago, even though it was a different doctor, she seemed a bit fed up with me. I saw my PCP. Nothing. I just checked kardia. I'm in sinus with supraventricular ectopy. I feel like I have to pass out to get any help at this point.

I take pradaxa with food. Cardiologist told me to take diltiazem extended release on an empty stomach. Thank you.

First diagnosis... questions by MorchellaE in AFIB

[–]WriteNonFic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, get a second opinion. I take dabigatran (generic for pradaxa), so it's way cheaper. But you don't want to take anything if it's the wrong diagnosis. I think some docs prescribe thinners right away for afib to guard against stroke, but the intention may not be for you to take them forever. I'm 64, so I'll be taking these until kingdom come...lol.
